I think the issue is that you have the option of making that choice. Many female gamers do not. There are far fewer games that offer protagonists that are female or POC, and that's problematic. It's great that more men are comfortable playing female characters/avatars than before, but until a woman is just as

You were eloquent and well-reasoned, sir. Please don't take this thread's mockery and hyperbole (and sometimes outright attacks) on Kotaku/Deadspin and their commenting sessions as the way all Jezzies feel. I think it's more a representation of frustration and a response "death by a thousand paper cuts" as voiced by

I will say: this is why I really love my body. When on birth control, I get like one day of a very light flow and that's it. You may want to talk to your doctor, see if you can do anything (if you want to be on some kind of BC).

Ok, now you're making a wholly different argument.

Glad to clear that up, I sort of had a feeling we were talking past each other.

Wait...what? The aliens (especially the QUEEN from "get away from her, you bitch") were always a representative of species survival. There was nothing gendered about their appearance in the first movie at all (Alien, not Aliens that you appear to be referencing), though the second one definitely played on Ripley's

My counter argument for this is always Ripley. Written for a male actor, played by a female. No change to the story, just made everything awesome. Gender/sex-swapping doesn't change story line tightness, lazy writing does.

I was just going to say her name! So glad you beat me to it.

Totally agree with every point! I'm mostly just astonished that so much of the conversation went from "bad angle bad photo of a gorgeous lady" to "how do we put something on/take something off her face to make her fit a more traditionally beautiful standard". Thanks for finding much more lovely photos of her.

PS Irony of discussing how she's not wearing enough/the right kind of makeup or is undergroomed when she's the kind of person who doesn't shave/wax/laser off her pubes? Not lost on me.

I was just coming to say that I love her eyebrows! They look like an actual person eyebrows, not over-groomed and weird. They're a little thinner near her nose but nice and firm and they frame her face really nicely. I think I'd like her to tell me where to buy jewelry, because she looks fab. The angle on the

Click through to Facebook page...discover she had to put one of her other dogs down this morning...crying begins anew.

I was thinking of the same thing! Glad I'm not alone.

My version at work is always

It honestly really wasn't clear. And I had to think for a long time if I had a family friend of my mom's/grandmother's/any specific family member's age that wasn't a friend of the family because they were friends with that person and failed. So you could very well be right.

Also Mulan gave me a reason to start screaming "Let's get down to business" and beak into song at the drop of a hat. So, you know, we all win.

It sounds like she's a friend of the family that is her mother's age, not just her mom's friend. In that case I might expand the conversation to anyone that is particularly close to the woman, but yeah, I agree with your point.

You just made me want to go give Vanderbilt one big giant institution-wide hug. I didn't know it was quite that awesome, thanks for sharing.
