The problem with these older sets(I can’t speak to Valve’s newest cause I haven’t used it) is that they kind of suck. If I’m going to spend $400 on something it can’t just be ‘ok’.

I’m glad Valve has toys to play with, and that some Half-Life fans with deep pockets are happy about this, but VR hardware to me sits about at the same level as an electric vehicle in the ‘I WANT THIS COOL NEW TECH’ category(although obviously quite a bit cheaper and also a bit more frivolous).
