Ed (and her dad) is definitely not white. Other than her, I think the show left everyone’s ancestry vague enough (and in the case of Faye, canonically unknown) that they can get away with casting whoever. That said, I personally hope there’s at least one Asian actor in there.

Faye was the only character explicitly Asian (Japanese). Spike was never flat out given an ethnicity, so he can be any that fall in that bland Anime skin tone. Jet is Native American. Ed is mixed race with some Middle Eastern ethnicity. Of course Hollywood will make Spike and Faye white, Jet black, and Ed probably…

Yeah, law enforcement loves back doors and bugs making their jobs easier. They seem to forget their job is to protect citizens from criminals, and that includes hackers.
