“While there’s an element of chance in these mechanics, the player is always guaranteed to receive in-game content (even if the player unfortunately receives something they don’t want). We think of it as a similar principle to collectible card games: Sometimes you’ll open a pack and get a brand new holographic

Jim Sterling has called out the “$60 selling price isn’t enough to cover the cost of making video games” as the bullshit it is.

I’m starting to thinking this director has a slow motion glass breaking fetish.

Because the Klingons in STD look allot worse than the Klingons in TNG. Hell I’d go as far to argue that the Klingons in TOS look better than the ones in STD. At least they could emote something other than a frown and weren’t purplish-blue baldies with ugly as sin noses. Not to mention those restrictive looking

“Although the word “kek” originated as a World of Warcraft meme, it has since been repurposed by alt-right internet denizens as a symbol of white nationalism, not unlike Pepe the Frog. As the Southern Poverty Law Center points out, alt-right protesters have carried this flag at various rallies and demonstrations”

Expect that doesn’t provide the necessary information needed to determine what level of drinking can be detrimental to a fetus. With that method you’re basing everything on the hearsay of your subjects and have no real control over the experiment. You have to find pregnant woman who will admit to higher levels of

But something that may be harmless to a full grown human could be devastating to a developing fetus that doesn’t have the same defenses against poisons that the mother does. You can’t use full grown adults as the baseline for what’s safe for a fetus.

To be honest, I don’t see how drinking couldn’t be harmful to a developing fetus given that alcohol is effectively a poison for your body. You body reacts in the same way towards alcohol as it would trying to remove any other poison from your system. Nothing about it is healthy in any quantities.

I think the only people with real racial issues are those who give those words such gravitas as to perpetuate their negative meaning. Meaning you are the only one giving those words power by letting it bother you so much as to justify dishonest means to shut it down.

Just because there is no current law against it doesn’t mean that what they are doing isn’t wrong. Bungie is preying on people predisposed to gambling addiction with their current loot box setup. They expose minors to gambling whether they mean to or not. It is a very despicable practice and we need to call it out

RNG with in game mechanics and currency isn’t gambling. Spending real world money to get RNG rewards is. If they never created loot boxes that you could pay cash to obtain, I would have no problem with it.

It’s still gambling regardless of whether you get a real world cash reward. You are still spending your money for a chance at getting something you want. It prays on the exact same type of habits that casinos pray on. Except they don’t give you a real world cash payout if you win. That’s more insidious if you ask me.

Yeah, what is being done here is not an acceptable solution to that problem. And the fact that they tied the system to their real world money gambling system doesn’t suggest that they did it for the good of their players.

The difference being, there are laws preventing casinos from letting minors gamble. Not so much for video games which are often advertised to minors. It’s gambling without all the legal litigation that casinos have to go through. And most of that litigation is there to protect people from practices that prey on

“With D2, we want statements like ‘I want to run the Raid, Trials, or go back to Titan to get more of its Shader’ to be possible.” - Luke Smith

For some people, the customization of their character in the game is something that they really enjoy. Just because it isn’t something that you find a priority, doesn’t mean it isn’t a priority for others. Think about an aspect of the game you like, now imagine Bungie locking parts of that aspect behind a RNG paywall.

“That might seem like a minor inconvenience, but after decades of use I can tell you that trackballs accumulate stuff around their sensors. Dust, dead human skin, the occasional dried streak of dog saliva. It’s inescapable and an expected downside of using what is otherwise the best kind of input device.”

Living in the Dallas area, and the price gouging got as high as 10$ per gallon of regular on Friday. Good thing I had the foresight to top off my tank before the hurricane hit cause it’s probably only going to get worse until the facilities in Houston get back up and running.

Oh look, another bigot hiding their bigotry behind the guise of “white privilege”. Have fun living in your fantasy land where white people are the cause of all the ills of the world.
