I was just showing that the modding community isn’t immune from malicious attacks, and that if they wanted to hackers could turn mods into a method to install malicious code on someone’s machine. That situation on the Nexus could have turned out very differently if the breach wasn’t discovered fast enough.

Same reasons, it’s just that Sony is more restrictive in what they allow on their system. Probably some remnant of when Sony’s PlayStation Network got hacked. They probably want to play it safe to avoid another embarrassing event like that.

Yeah, allowing third party software on their console would definitely make it easier to pirate content off of the console. Probably just something else to add to the list of reasons why.

That or people are taking unmodified PC mods and are uploading them on the PS4 without the author’s permission. It happened allot with the Xbox One community, wouldn’t be surprised if the exact same thing was happening with the PS4 community.
