I don't think anything in the judgment or this article says that NGO's are prohibited from working with high risk communities. Of course they can work with high risk communities! The oath (who called it an oath, was it really an oath?) was simply a stated policy to help to end prostitution and sex trafficking.

George Bush did more to fight Aids than Clinton OR Obama. His place in history on this is secure.

I know, I know.... But i said the HoH in your own life. You can be the HoH in your own household! Come on step up! :-)

I thought some women LIKED to be spanked in a consensual way. Nothing says the HoH in your own life necessarily has to be the male. :-) Who give a crap what people want to do in their own lives. Leave them alone.

Thank you for your service. While I'm not necessarily against this policy (it's really out of my league since I'm not military), I do find the politics behind these decisions interesting. As a former service person, do you think this decision came from within the military itself, or within the halls of Congress?

Nope, a quick google search shows that there are lots of different (read lower) standards for women across the military. It's called gender norming. I'm not a military guy, but I wonder if the pressure to have a woman SEAL is going to find its way into the training.

The real question is will they (very very quietly) lower the standards so that a woman will become a SEAL? After all, if a woman doesn't become a SEAL in the first few classes, it's misogyny amiright?

Soooo this is Jezebel right? We like the use of the term 'bitch' in the context of how the rappers use it? Huh?

well there was the woman who was convicted of voting SIX times this past election. She was of course a poll worker....

This is the first I've read that she is leaving. Good for her. Leave that guy. If he'll do this in public imagine the torment he's capable of in private.

I know, I get it. But what if it WASN'T a generic boiler plate message? What if it was from a REALLY handsome guy, his resume was normal, and he made a cute joke in the e-mail. I think our author would have responded much differently.

THankfully I'm married. But my single friends tell me OKCupid and other dating sites are trash heaps. A professional environment, a conference, LinkedIn, or work work is a fine place to tactfully, respectfully meet and become romantically interested in them. Heck I met my wife in professional atmosphere. I

Close. My next question would be if he was really hot, had a great resume, (that's code for 'he's rich!') and had a tactful, respectful intro, would you have responded? That is the question. Of course Katie reacted the way she did and wrote an article. If the intro e-mail through LinkedIn had been stellar, we

I know. It was a really awkward attempt to get to know her. But what if they did have something in common, what if this was more tactful approach, what if they did know a few people in common? My belief, unlike the author, is that reaching out with a romantic interest (as long as it is not obtrusive or over the

TacoExpert is correct. The right picture and the right job/money and the reaction would be much different. Even if it was on a "work" site. What if a great guy was genuinly attracted to you on LinkedIn. Is he to say to himself, "Whoa buddy, this is a WORK site. You can't contact her!" Give me a break.

So what should this guy do if he was genuinly attracted to you? And let's say for argument's sake that he is not a weirdo, he's a just normal great guy. He just happened to like the way you looked and perhaps felt that there could be some connection. AND let's just say for this example that his picture was

I think the EFF would disagree. And I find Obama's assurance that no one was being listened to less than truthful. The New York Times (a VERY pro-Obama paper) right on with this, he has "lost all credibility."

No, not shocked. :-) Just still disappointing that our media can not bring themselves to hold his feet to the fire on issues like this. His hypocrisy is just astounding.

You're right. He will never be held to any of the promises he made during the election. And that is the problem. A politician can come forward, promise anything and everything, get elected, then just say....Hey, it's different now...
