My paternal great-grandparents immigrated from Lithuania just before WW1 broke out. They knew what was going to go down. I think a lot of us have recent ancestors who fled to the US during or near major wars. And a lot of people didn’t make it here.

I also live in a big golf community. There are four courses within 5 miles of my house. Most of the country clubs/courses around here are public because we are a tourist/second-home owner area in Missouri (not Branson). But I don’t doubt for one second if they were private most of them would not invite POCs or women…
