My paternal great-grandparents immigrated from Lithuania just before WW1 broke out. They knew what was going to go down. I think a lot of us have recent ancestors who fled to the US during or near major wars. And a lot of people didn’t make it here.

I don’t blame you one bit. This shit is horrifying.
I also live in a big golf community. There are four courses within 5 miles of my house. Most of the country clubs/courses around here are public because we are a tourist/second-home owner area in Missouri (not Branson). But I don’t doubt for one second if they were private most of them would not invite POCs or women…
And since he referred to Mar-a-Lago as the “Winter White House”, it seems like a legit idea.
I had legit heart pains while reading this list.
Only 36% of Americans have passports. The majority of Americans have never visited another country. There are multiple reasons for the lack of foreign travel, but many Americans just have not had the experience.
The sister rally in Kansas City did this well also. The speakers included a rape survivor let down by police, a trans activist, a disability rights activist, an immigrant and refugee activist, a leader of the local Muslim community, and the mayor Sly James among others. The crowd was as diverse as the speaker lineup.
Penthouse is on it. I’m surprised Hustler hasn’t made a similar offer yet.
I did this last night. I ugly cried through the whole show.
I was a Girl Scout from first grade to graduation. (For reference, I graduated high school in 2000) A lot of that had to do with my troop’s leaders. A teacher from my school was my first leader, but then my mother took over. I don’t mean to this mean to be “Yay! My mom will let me do what ever I want!” but she took it…
I’ve been dealing with the same. Tomorrow (technically today, but I’ve not slept yet, so it’s tomorrow to me) I will be saying “Happy Winter Solstice”. I live in central Missouri so I’m sure this will be responded to with criticism.
I have a family member who works for the Kansas City Public Library and works at the Central branch most of the time. I can’t believe they feel safe going to work after this happened.
Or that Rock n’ Roll is here to stay?
It really just makes me want to Scream.
The National WW1 Museum & Memorial in Kansas City is a beautiful museum that has an amazing store. Poppies! Poppies everywhere!
I also did a double take and opened the article just hoping that I wouldn’t see Lydia Hearst named. I was vindicated, but still... This sucks. I wonder if Lydia and Chris can talk some sense into this woman!
The Hike was great. I’m anxious to see how it translates to the television show that is being planned. I haven’t read Lab Girl, but heard very good things about it and I’m hoping to read Hillbilly Elegy sometime after the new year.
She did A Million Reasons and A-Yo on SNL a month or so ago, that might have been where you saw it.
No! We must love everything a feminist female artist puts out! How else will we show that we also are feminists? /s
White girl here. I hate Christmas music with a passion. I have a job where I have to help create the playlist for my small Midwestern city’s Christmas light drive through thingie. This song is my first suggestion every year.
