I believe that this is the 1st water cooled bike too. I've seen 'em with a little brass squirrel on the front fender.
You can actually see the C4 profile under the plasticy veneer
VW already bought a motorcycle company; NSU of Germany which was the worlds largest motorcycle manufacturer in the 50's but by the 60's it was part of VW and they ceased production because NSU was in trouble after branching out and making cars with Wankle rotary motors. Remember that family has already bought MV back…
I don't have any plans for it other than riding it like a rented mule. It has 160k miles and I like to ride 'em not preserve the condition for the next guy to own it. And yes bikes are easier to inspect and they're smaller so you can put a bunch of em in a garage! I don't know any riders who have just one.
I have a very desirable vintage motorcycle that was totaled and rebuilt. To what extent I'll never know. But the work done on it was very good. I can tell it wasn't done in a factory because some of it is better than it would have been. The paint is obviously not correct but looks good. And there is a strange…
Stock 2dr Turbo NP!, 4dr engine swap with random GM parts CP.
Everyday I see old VW's 20, 30, 40, 50 years old plus still driving on the road. I never see old Ferraris or even Toyotas that old still on the road?!?
Agreed, and the gas economy & insurance costs reflect that it's not a true sports car but plenty faster than a standard metallo-beige sedan that clogs our roads here in LA. But still fun in the twisties!
$13K?!? Who'd wanna pay that much to be "the bigger idiot" in this equation?
These "runs forever" older Japanese cars are disappearing. NP for a running econobox, $2300 is less than a downpayment on a newer heavier car.
There's $2900 of hobby money there, and it doesn't take up much room in the garage!
I was getting that feeling too that Chrysler could have been too much, did they even talk to Daimler before the purchase?
L-Toyota Ha ha...puts L shaped finger to forehead. Does it come in beige?
Unable to find a spot at the beach I decided to just park in the red at a dead end street and just take the ticket, But I put a note on the windshield saying: "I apologize officer but I went in to get my fathers Judicial robe" It was in a very nice neighborhood and had borrowed a Porsche 914. When I got back hours…
Great example I see some people in my neighborhood with 70's Japanese cars, Rx2, Celicas, Datsuns. It's cool to see. But that said, I always heard how infallible Toyotas are but now see them broken down by the side of the road in the hands of some people. Old cars can easily keep going as long as you keep them up.
This just in, Duh! How long has this been going on, since the beginning. Breaking News>>> Newspapers are made of trees!!!!
I have and have seen all these emissions controls on bikes in CA that you stated the Elio wont have to have. "...because the motorcycle designation legally allows them to forego... evaporative emissions canisters, exhaust gas recirculation..."
"Gold Package" badges on a Toyota. It has to be a dealer rip off because it looks more fake than a gold & diamond "Grill" for your teeth for sale at a gas station.
