I guess you could say they came down with a bad case of Mercedes copy syndrome but now your saying they got over it. Let's hope so. There's really only room for one Mercedes.

I also went to art school but I rode a CB750 at the time. and I've lived in Silverlake. So I guess I was kinda a stereotype. Horn rim glasses, fixie, make my own cider...
It's kinda sad. These are probably decent cars if you can get past the whole "borrowed" looks of it. That Hyundai sedan in the pic has the same headlights from the Mercedes from about 10 years ago. If they'd just concentrate on selling their own stuff instead of these "Tribute" designs.
I live over that way I've been running in the hills up there I'll keep a look out.
So... can I take Traffic school?
I think most of todays Lexus look like yesterdays Mercedes. (The rounded logo, the tail lights, the cladding in the past) Or that LS 460 that looks just like the previous BMW 7 series. (I thought that was Hyundai's job to copy BMW?) Like you said Toyota is clearly capable of good unique design. It should be beneath…
VR6! me too! So far it's my favorite car that I've ever driven.
I got accused of that after I bought a used GTI. I guess everybody has something they don't like about in the cars they didn't choose to buy. Like, beige automatic Camrys.
LOL I had a '64 Valiant convertible now I drive a GTI. I guess I got it bad.
Oh NO! A car company copying some designs from one another?!? If that were illegal how would Toyota/Lexus know what to do?
Lexus ES 250 (Toyota Camry) with Gold plated emblems.
Second that. Except I'm not a GTO driving bad ass Police Chief.
Pepsi is so underground.
the Toyopet was being sold on Hollywood Blvd in the 1950's. Ever seen one? Anywhere? My point was for a company making cars for 76 years shouldn't there be more old ones around if there supposed to be so great? a 1990's Toyota is old?
It looks like the "Predator's" mouth from the 80's Alien vs Swarznegger movie.
Toyoda started making cars in 1937 and you count 90's cars as an old Toyota?
GM was no 1 for over eighty years in a row. Only 78 more years to go Toyota...
In my experience my 'Dubs ran great. '88 Cabrio ran 200k '93 Jetta ran 150k until a Volvo crushed it. '03 GTI 80 k no real troubles so far. Besides, you sure see a lot of old VWs on the road, Lots more than old Toyotas for some reason?!??
I like VAG. I'm in one right now. I dont really care what you're into, I'm gonna stick with my VAG.
Great, more Auto Beige for us. Thanks Cash for Clunkers Obama!
