That’s completely different, bro. China has a lot more money than North Carolina.

Just gonna throw this out there- the NBA doesn’t seem to mind playing games and making money in China, who openly bans homosexual images on television, among other things.
That’s fair. But, if ‘Person A’ told something to a reporter off the record, would that reporter normally note (in the story) that ‘Person A’ declined to comment? Seems...bizarre.
Random question: if Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan declined to comment on the story of Tiger being world-class nerdsauce in the club, who relayed the anecdote?
I hate when people say stupid shit like this. If you’re an independent contractor you still have a, you know, contract. And per the terms of the contract one party may require the other to do this, that, or the other thing.
If McGregor signed a contract that had as a condition certain kinds of promotion and now he’s saying he won’t do them then he’s in the wrong and would be liable to be sued for breach of contract.
More likely the contract doesn’t specify the exact nature of the promotion McGregor agreed to do so they are disagreeing…
Based on that argument, if you hire an independent contract, via a signed contract, to renovate your apartment/house, they are completely in the right of just walking away from it if they feel like it.
And you, in turn, understand that Dana White being an unpleasant person has nothing to with the actual situation, right? If Dana White says that he doesn’t want his fighters punching random people on the street, he won’t in the wrong with that?
I understand the hostility towards Dana White, as he is not always the most pleasant of people, but the baseline of this article seems somewhat extreme. McGregor refused to promote the fight and attend a PR event he seems to have been contractually obliged to attend and which cost a huge amount of money to set up. We…
But that’s a horrible position to take. Besides, this slightly ignores the fact that, based on what I’ve read, they had the fight contract signed and McGregor agreed to those tour conditions. Especially since organizing those tours costs the UFC a ton of money.
“A married couple we know recently got pregnant, and sent my wife and me an online survey to rank potential baby names. This is insanity, right? Do I play along and do their dumb survey?”
yes... thankfully a Gawker platform is sticking up for those that have their private sexual moments exposed without consent. Oh wait...
wouldn’t lack of consent in a way offer more true results?
Metacafe.
is there a web site that uses a worse video player than Deadspin? Serious question.
Oh man, I was anti-Heat long before The Decision because I felt like they got handed the '06 title by the refs at the expense of the Pistons and then the Mavs.
this is like saying Draper isn’t THAT bad of a writer. He’s written a couple accurate things before.
I’m not the “blame the refs” guy, but I’ll always believe they got jobbed against the Heat in 06. However, no excuses for letting that Cavs team in 06 take them 7 (and the Cavs had a 3-2 lead!).
well, the 73 thing is tough... I’m speaking about this as a Pistons fan and remembering them having like a 40-6 start and wanting to push for that record. First they kind of burnt themselves out, but then when they had everything wrapped up late took massive breaks. Then they couldn’t get it back together for the…
