Man... I was so eager to read about this update and learn it was everything I had hoped it would be. But I let out an audible expletive and my heart sank when I got to the part about 3-pedals not being offered on one of MINI’s highest performance products.

Odds are that there’s a kid somewhere in Georgia named Chevy Camaro Johnson.

I thought it was a play off OP’s mention of porn—like an imagined car porn actor’s stage name as well as a way to knock him down for the humble brag about his sport-edition Camry disguised as a complaint about Kristen being entertaining instead of providing easily found information from a google search or from most

Really egregious in the R8. Just lopsided.

You olds need to die already so I can buy your previously owned lightly used C8's for cheap.

Lamborghini purposefully mounts the engines off-center to balance the weight of the drive shaft. They do this with the v12 cars also.

I agree. I was happy as a clam when I moved from an SP1 944 up to an S2000 as my track car — couldn’t believe how much faster it was, and that’s still with around 1/3 of the power of the lambo in this article. I’d much rather be in an analog car with usable power that I can drive at the limit, vs an obscenely fast

Agreed. Excellently phrased and it brought a smile to my face. I come for the car news and pictures, but stay for the written gems.

This picture is making me twitch. Is the engine sitting slightly left of the mid line? Is the cowl behind the motor offset slightly right? Why, oh why, is this not symmetrical.

If all you want is something that goes fast, I’m sure there will always be something for you.

Apologies. I wasn’t referring to that work intentionally or knowingly. Any point I’ve ever made about it is intended as a rebuttal to the idea it presents and a defense of the fact that public good can be well managed by democracy against the aggression of the rich and short term profit and to point out the idiocy of

Wow, all those negative replies must have dampened that feeling. Fuck those haters. They’re all nuts. You’re right on. We’re moving into a world where it makes no difference what you look like and that is universally positive if you ask me.

and with a manual transmission.

Toyota should bring back the Mr2 in reply and make it like 40k 300hp.

I think the BMW Supra may have already died on this date:

Yes and No. I hear reports of an electrified Fiat 500 (etorque and the 1.3 turbo) and I’m excited to see that. I’m excited for a Next Gen GT86. I’m excited with the Challenger and hopefully a new Alfa Romeo coupe *fingers crossed*. Maserati as a Tesla competitor? I might buy a beautiful electric car if it’s a Maserati!

Yes, Toyota too. And they are so bad they borrow other automakers’ platforms to keep expanding (Mazda, Subaru, BMW)

So I’ve been a Jalop since 2008 and a car guy for a few years prior to that. Things were different back then, and I’m old now. I want to ask you all, the “new class,” as it were, a question:

Are you excited about the future of cars? I mean, I was, back then. It seemed like cool cars were coming out left and right. Now,

I always wondered how the Germans were able to have this endless model proliferation, while the American and Japanese luxury brands had much more limited lineups.

There is a huge gap. You have the BRZ/Miata group in the $25-35k range, then nothing until you hit $45k (TT, which will soon be dead) and $50k (Supra/Z4). The only car inbetween is the 370Z, which is a decade old pile of garbage that I can’t imagine anyone seriously considers buying new in 2019.
