WTF is that headline? Really?

The A.V. Club did the headline correctly.  I’m ashamed of Jez for this one.

Bub’s owner Mike always struck me as the exact opposite of too many “famous pet” owners: Always kept the animal’s best interests in mind, only monetized her appearance when they could also put proceeds towards animal welfare causes, didn’t name the cat “Retard” and clumsily backpedal when they got media attention…

Yep, veterinary costs add up fast. I have had a major medical issue with my cat over the last year, involving kitty MRIs and a veterinary neurologist at a world-class veterinary teaching hospital. I couldn’t do it without both a very good job and a willingness to still not save a penny this year. I’m grateful as fuck.

Why is Jezebel mocking the death of this little cat? I really don’t understand this site’s crushing need to Edgelord everything...

Lots of love and great medical care.  She was given a chance that a lot of cats aren’t lucky to receive. 

She’s had health problems her entire life but she saw her vet on a very consistent basis and I honestly don’t believe her owner would have kept her alive if she were suffering or in pain.  

You know, for as beloved as this cat is you COULD maybe go with a nicer headline than “This Cat is Dead.” Just a suggestion. RIP, Lil Bub. :( 

Were you trying to be edgy and cool with this headline? Or do you just hate cats and the people who like them? This was unnecessarily insensitive. 

This headline. Oof. I really loved that sweet little guy, and I’m not even much of a cat person. Seeing this was not a great way to receive the news. I know your brand is snark, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to consider a little compassion.

Also, she interviewed Michelle Obama.  Lil Bub was a queen!!

This headline seems to be a little flippant/callous.... would “Lil Bub, The Famous Internet Cat, Has Died” not gotten enough clicks? Why go with “This cat is dead”?

RIP Lil’Bub. You made more people smile than this crusty middle-aged lady ever will.
