Agreed. I flip once, and I always get a great steak.

Does my old LeMons car offend you then? (sorry!)

Agreed - Digital is just too easy, really. My exposure was only during my studies (I was lured by the blinking LEDs of digital), but there's days when I wish I hadn't taken the easy route.

I think the point that's trying to be made here is that the output quality of a high resolution DAC will outperform a standard issue DAC residing inside your computer.

Yup, that's my girl. Another tidbit of trivia for the '95, it was the only year they put the 6 spd in the 540i. The '94 was a 5 speed. ('95 was the last year of the e34) From what I've read, there's only 1524 of these cars in North America. [en.wikipedia.org](E34)#540i

Umm, I'd pay $6500 for that car in a HEARTBEAT. Why? Because I bought mine, 5 years ago, for $8000. With 148,000 on it.

Disagree... Throaty, high revving engines are great, but if they could figure out how make a hybrid that's actually fun to drive through racing development, I'd take that too. They could use all that electricity-generating-braking to power some sweet speakers to play your high-revvin' tunes!

Here in the Bay Area, AAMCO will do a read of your OBD-II for free. I've got a reader, so I've never used that service.

This sucks.

I've seen the book scanning building. It's a scary place.

Overall driving in nasty conditions. I grew up on gravel roads in northern Montana, so muddy, slushy, snowy road were the norm. Loose gravel with potholes and washboards were the "nice" conditions.

The flooding in the Asian production countries has dramatically reduced the production capacity for the disk-based storage. Supply low, demand stays same, prices go up.

Every post I read by this "journalist" is reminiscent of a BB flame war. "Punctuate it with your middle finger"? That's a great way to start an intellectual discussion on a scientific issue.

My first dream machine was a present to me when I was around 10 years old (23 years ago). 2 years ago I decided to upgrade to a Dash because I saw an open box discount at Best Buy, so I figured I'd finally get with the times. I love the Dash, but hate the backlit LCD in the middle of the night.

Creative Labs was making sound cards well before most of these guys were born... Great reference!

I took the plunge to iOS5 this weekend. My laptop HD has been getting full lately (probably due to the 5gb+ iPhone backups iTunes makes...) but I had about 3gb free. I found out that you need at least the size of your previous backup free or iTunes will bounce out of the restore and leave your phone blank. By

To add insult to injury each driver probably had to pay for:

My palms were sweaty going down the front straight. I didn't even make it to the carousel. I'm still shaking my head and have the desire to pull into the fetal position...

I saw the same thing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Except the shoes were pointy.
