@th89: when I tried Opera originally, it felt clunky, looked clunky, and didn't have the keyboard shortcuts I was used to in IE.

AHK kills the ability to use mouse buttons 4 & 5 as back/forward in my browser (whether Firefox or Chrome), so it's out of the picture.

The stuff I want is either on my Amazon list, or is downloadable goods anyway.

RELOADING!

I had a friend who'd fire up Windows 3.1 just to play Solitaire... and then reboot when she was done, because she didn't realize there was a way to close Solitaire, much less exit Windows.

I've been using Chrome as my primary browser since its release, with Privoxy to replace ABP. It just feels ten times faster than FireFox.

@SuchetaThisbe: I've been using Privoxy with Chrome, using almost its default configuration, and I'm pleased as punch with that.

On the eMusic maximum subscription, you're paying $.25 a track for DRM-free MP3s you can keep forever. I haven't seen a better deal than that (aside from stealing :P).

It doesn't know much about powernoise bands... except for trying to recommend Terrorfakt (my least favorite powernoise act) when I gave it Front Line Assembly (which is EBM).

@geekgrrl: I think they're going for the steampunk demographic — which generally seem to be crafty, non-gamer types that would be happy to play a casual steampunk-flavored game — than the casual gamer demographic in general.

I'd like to telecommute, but so many of my interruptions each day are of the "come look at this bug in person" variety that I don't think it'd work.

@Return To Null: I like jZip much more than 7-Zip, personally. The interface is just cleaner and it handles everything 7-Zip does.

Vote: jZip.

@birdfeed25: same here. I wonder if it's due to extensions or other cruft, but I really feel no motivation to do a clean install of FireFox when my experience in Chrome is fantastic.

This handles filename searches quite nicely.

I do like my wireless Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer. After a couple weeks of using one at work, I liked it enough to buy one for home.
