I said it was almost certainly Fenrig, and if not Fenrig Scytale. Considering the pace that movies are going though, it's very doubtful the sequel will get into Book 3 at all.

What’s funny is that there basically IS a sidekick character who travels alongside the God-Emperor in that book, although that book is the 6th in the series and they are still on the first one.
