I picked Wretch and am basically just running a Quality Build using an Uchigatana until I find something that makes me decide to send my character into a specific direction. Usually what i do on the first run on every Souls game, as I like to go in with no knowledge of what items, spells, etc that I may find.

I just found a place where you can get a staff and magic spell very early on, which has been a godsend for my poor Wretch. Explore everything! Leave the beaten path

Screw parrying. Dont even bother. I’ve beat every From Software game since King’s Field many times over, and I honestly dont think that I’ve used parry once in any of them (save for maybe the Father G fight in Bloodborne?). Dodge roll and block are better/easier, imo.

Lol... I started as a Wretch. Level 1, a club, no armor, no spells. Funny to see people complaining that the much stronger and more well-equipped classes they picked are somehow not good enough. The class isnt bad....

Wut? Your starting class is damn near meaningless. Just do the bare minumum of level grinding and get your stats where you want them. Don’t have enough strength to use a weapon you like? Level up your strength.
