This reminds me of a very accurate and insightful comment i read once (maybe from Robert Anton Wilson?): literally nobody else cares even one tiny shred about your dreams or finds them even remotely interesting. Nobody cares. 

But...the PvE stuff sucks. Why on earth did they think OW fans would want a more PvE or story-focused version? That is the last thing i want from the sequel.

Youre acting as if the musical was universally acclaimed, and that is absolutely not the case. A very significant percentage of people found the play to be just as tasteless, crass, and questionable as the movie.
