the HAUNTED tugboat!

If they'd done it 15 years ago, a version of J+H with Pierce as Jeckyl and Kelsey Grammer as Hyde might have actually worked; they really did look alike back then, and Grammer can be a pretty imposing dude.

Well, there was no sense of time in the MAKING of that comic, either; Miller intended it to be his response to 9/11, and he only got around to finishing it after Seal Team 6 had dispatched Bin Laden.

I think Uni WANTS people to forget DRACULA UNTOLD.
Their new plan seems to be "Let's get movie stars to trick people into the theater!"

Ah, who you gonna trust- an eminent brainy science guy, or some random dude on the internet?

FUN FACT: while Disney bossman Bob Iger IS related to comic book pioneer Jerry Iger, his predecessor at Disney Michael Eisner is NOT related to Jerry Iger's partner Will Eisner.
Ironically, Bob Iger has noted that his knowledge of the comics industry was the major factor in his decision to buy Marvel; he knew just

Well, Batman's clearly more of a goth.

"These young people may dress in an unusual manner, but they're really no different from any other good citizens" (swirls cape)

Be fair; that was the thesis of your doctorate.
Not everybody's done that kind of research on the topic.

There was a time in my life when I stayed up all night listening to BRAVE NEW WAVES on the CBC.

And the producer was… Hammer, the House Of Horror itself.

If they want it to be authentic, they`ll wait for some British producer to do a MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE movie first, and then just remake that.

In the tv series, the wives of Henry, Trapper, and Frank are all frequently mentioned. Hawkeye is the single one- although he does claim to be married in one episode, it's pretty obviously a ruse to get out of committing to a post-war relationship with a nurse (well, three different nurses, actually)
The movie kind

Well, the show pushed the idea that cheating was basically justified because of the war; it's not that Trapper and Henry didn't love their wives- it was made very clear they did- it was just men seeking comfort in the face of constant horror.
One thing no one notices about the series is just how much scatological

The early episodes of the tv show are actually a lot closer to the movie than generally percieved; it's literally the same characters and situations transplanted into the mold of a network situation comedy- snappy patter replaces overlapping dialogue, but it's still very vignette oriented and freeform,(it was really

"I wonder what would have happened if I had stumbled upon the Sam Neil movie Sirens at that age?"
WONDERFUL THINGS

I've always thought POD was Carpenter's homage to 1980s Italian horror (that ending puts me in mind of ZEDER)

I know Landis was actually pushing for original CREATURE director Jack Arnold to helm the remake; he was a big fan who thought that Arnold (who also directed INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE) deserved a shot at a comeback after years of being stuck directing TV.

To be fair to VAMPIRES: apparently, the budget got slashed way, WAY down just before it started shooting, because the studio wanted someone more "commercial" that James Woods in the lead, and Carpenter wouldn't budge.
Since Woods is by far the best thing about that film, you've got to give Carpenter credit for
