Well, origin stories are fine, but once you do them, you should move on to what happens next.
But I'd love to see a new Batman movie that was basically built around the story of a single Rogue's Gallery member- how they became a villain and how Batman defeated them.Just a straightforward character arc built around

Of course, once you go down THAT route, you head towards Robin, and the grim dark crowd HATES Robin.
But"Batman as father figure"is one ofthe things that has made the character endure.

The soundtrack album version of the opening credits includes Lee's battle cries.
Because Lalo Schifrin ain't stupid; he knows what works.

Jackie Chan has made a similar comment about the difference between staged fighting and real fighting, suggesting that Jimmy Wang Yu (considered to be his on-screen inferior by martial arts fans) would probably be able to beat him in an actual fight because Jimmy's got some "real world" fighting experience.
(which is

Blatty had an interesting career BEFORE "The Exorcist", too; his screenplays include co-writing two of Blake Edwards' best films: A SHOT IN THE DARK (pretty much universally considered the best of the Inspector Clouseau movies) and GUNN (the underrated big-screen spin-off of the cult TV series)

Of course,Siskel's favorite Batman movie was MASK OF THE PHANTASM, which really surprised him; he didn't even NOTICE it's theatrical release, stumbled across it on video, and liked it so much he made Ebert watch it so they could review it on the show.

The 1970s Batman comics are probably the primary influence on BTAS.

I've always thought that Burton was more interested in the
stuff that influenced Batman than Batman himself.

In the wake of SUPERMAN- THE MOVIE,there was an attempt to get a similar Batman film off the ground. The interesting thing was that the script (by Tom Manciewicz) obviously was just written as "theTV series, but played straight"… and it really was very close to the traditional comics Batman (much closer than his

…. eh, close enough.

Well, the thing is, Elfman's score is sincere. He's not mocking that stuff in any way; he's exulting in the opportunity to write BIG MUSIC.
(Kind of like John William's comment that he loves scoring the Indiana Jones films, because they give him a chance to do old-style movie music that would be totally inappropriate

The important point was that FIRTH's character was ALSO mind-controlled; and afterwards, he was appalled by it. (It was Sam Jackson's character who judged them worthy of mass slaughter; Firth was just his tool)

I found it interesting that when word of the movie blowing up Obama's head leaked, there was a brief outbreak of thuggy conservatives hoping the movie was made for them… which died quickly when they realized that no, it most definitely was NOT made for them, not even a little bit no sir.

Now I want Nick Offerman to play Aries.

Counterpoint: it's more fun to see a guy with a degree bite the head off a chicken.

I think it's pretty clear Xena was bisexual. Some would argue that Gabrielle's experiences with men were just part of her "exploring her sexuality", but Xena's relationships with men seemed more significant.
