Now we're one step away from "Chewbacca Shatner".

POOTEY tang?

whoa, don't get hyperbolic, here

Or they were sources the general public wasn't familiar with. like CERTAIN JACK KIRBY COMICS #theforceisthesourceofcourseofcourse

Also: the "Zilla" he loves is probably the Matthew Broederick one.
(too harsh?)

I would go see a movie called ALIEN VS ALIENS, but I would have no idea who to root for.

As I recall, Rogers was offered the role, but chose to do HOUSE CALLS instead… which was a medical sitcom based on a movie, and thus ALSO pretty close to his M*A*S*H* character.

It's not even a spinoff from the TV series; it's officially based on the character from the novel… because Fox didn't want to pay royalties the the TV show producers.
I think the idea was "hey, if they can spin off an hour-long drama from THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW, we can do it with M*A*S*H*". (but, of course, LOU

Yeah, he had better comic chemistry with Alda, whatever their off-screen relationship might have been like.
M*A*S*H* was very smart about replacing departing characters with ones that could fill their basic roles in the ensemble, but were different enough that they never lived in their predecessor's shadows.
(heck,

FUN FACT: Mike Farrell got the job as Wayne Rogers' replacement largely because his then-wife Sharon was one of the recurring nurse characters on the show. (Rogers' departure was a surprise- unlike Maclean Stevenson, he didn't make a big pronouncement he wanted out; he just declined to renew his contract, and didn't

Reportedly, the writers were considering having a love triangle between Trapper, Hotlips, and Frank when Rogers left the show.
It would have been a pretty good idea.

According to Adam West, there was a bit of a behind-the-scenes debate on the worth of the comics as source material- and Semple seems to have been on the 'pro-comics" side- not so much because he wasn't parodying them, but because he felt it made for better parody to stay close to the source (indeed, many of the

Given that Kane HIMSELF acknowledged (in print) before his death that he should have given Finger credit, this is particularily galling.
IRONIC FACT: the only time Bill Finger ever saw himself credited as the author of a Batman story during his lifetime… was on an episode of the 1960s Adam West TV series ( "The

He's even out of touch with his OWN past struggles; just look how his "Fat Albert" material evolved from "autobiographical stand-up comedy" to "kid's show with intent to teach life lessons" to "live action movie riffing on the idea of cartoon characters in the real world".

Or, to give it it's original name, "Romneycare".

All they have to do is prove that people were enticed to pay money for an unauthorized STAR TREK product. (that was the line Sim crossed- putting it on the cover and making it look enough like the real thing that a consumer could be fooled into buying it)

at least the porn version fleshed out Geordi's character.
LITERALLY.

Good question.
It seems to be the financial scale of this production that has moved it from 'amateur fan film with no chance of making a profit" to "professional production that infringes on copyright". (after all, even if the intentions of the makers of this are completely honorable, the fact that they raised a

Universal's fought that very battle over the visual depictions of their "classic monster" characters.
