You know, given his strict by-the-rules attitude, being a referee suits him.

And, of course, the costume itself must LITERALLY be "more comfortable".
WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS COMING, AND NAUGHT WAS DONE TO STOP IT!
Moore has said that he KNEW Octopussy should have been his last one- but then Connery's NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN came out later that year, and he felt a weird competative obligation to do one more.
I sometimes find myself defending OCTOPUSSY (specifically, from people who claim that Bond in a clown suit is demeaning, when in fact it's not only totally logical in context but the scene in question is played effectively as straight-up suspense). The film as a whole is not top-notch Bond… but it's top-notch MOORE…
I think we may get a cultural arc like Batman has- people loved Adam West, then were embarassed by him, then start to view him with nostalgic fondness, then acknowledge he was an important part of the franchise, then wish he could come back because the new version takes itself too seriously.
I did like it's treatment of Red Kryptonite- that was a good example of taking a questionable idea from the comic ("Red Kryptonite can turn Superman into ANYTHING!") and revamping it into something more viable ("Red Kryptonite can change Superman's PERSONALITY into ANYTHING!")
I always wanted to see Dana Delany play her in live-action JUST ONCE.
You have the perspective of one who survived The Moore Years.
And yet, he's been pretty much continuosly appearing (in some form) on one tv show or other for the past quarter century.(He's back in spirit at least on SUPERGIRL this fall).
I think maybe he's just best suited to TV; MAN OF STEEL tried to play him for the maximum cinematic spectacle, and people thought it was…
I'm struck by how much more comfortable Cavill seems in the MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. trailer. I think he'd MUCH rather be doing THAT sort of thing than "DO YOU BLEED? YOU WILL!"
But will they follow it up with "who said it: Chris Christie or Louis DePalma"?
Really, the secret to the FF's greatness back in the day was that it was the wellspring of the whole dang Marvel Universe; SO MANY new characters and concepts were originated there. But once Kirby left, the faucet was shut off, and they were just ordinary superheroes (admittedly, The Thing was still pretty cool)
It was basically a joke.
And an excuse for Art Adams to draw mole monsters.
FLYING CARS!? Good God, man, that's horrifying! Do you know how many accidents we have each day with ordinary, driving-on-the-ground-with- stop-signs-and-traffic-lights type cars? NOW MULTIPLE THAT BY TEN and add in all the pedestrians that now get SkyCars dropped on them. You run out of gas? YOU'RE DEAD!
On the other hand, Jackie Chan almost made a cameo as a Jedi.
hmmm… Jackie as Jar Jar?
THREE years? According to this documentary I watched about a M*A*S*H* unit, it lasted a LOT longer than that.
Also: the US military was surprisingly tolerant of transvestism.
It's on DVD (in 2 volumes) and Blu-Ray (in 1 volume): http://www.amazon.com/Young…
To be fair, he's sometimes a RIGHT-headed, judgmental asshole.
I hope someday we may yet get to visit Dr. Shatterhand's Garden Of Death.
