As it stands the scans could be used for literally anything they want, in perpetuity. The gray zone of this needs to be addressed.

I enjoyed the Christmas ale.

The easy fix here would be to just remove it in post and update the digital distribution packages. They’ve got a couple weeks to fix it. Except with all the hullabaloo that might piss off China - a much bigger market.

There’s some logic there. Perhaps in the future if the road were torn up and the material put into use as another building material. I’ve read in China they also have this issue and have slowly been mixing small amounts into drywall which seems unwise. But then again, the US didn’t ban the use of phosphogypsum in

I’ll be That Internet Guy and say this piece is bad unresearched non-journalism. Should be pulled or do a rewrite with less scary-oh-no tone.

Shoulda put the fridge in a basement and he emerges into charred ruins. Obviously many problems there too, but it avoids the spectacle of surviving unscathed from a fridge/missile impact.

Some fascinating shit with that guy. He went to jail for stalking some female DJs and threatening them and a festival with violence. He also had a bad time in said jail. https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/investigations/san-diego-county-sued-for-medical-neglect/509-ad1e9c2d-bb38-4734-a59d-ab9b0f12a81b

The Domain outdoor mall/offices/living area in Austin has at least 3 of these... North Italia, Culinary Dropout and Flower Child that I know of.

The radioactivity is pretty mild - adding an undetectable amount to the background radiation in most areas. It’s material that came from the same place that gypsum is mined - the earth is full of naturally occurring radioactive elements that come up when mining. It can emit small amounts of radon so you wouldn’t want

A colleague of mine worked on the development of the Doritos taco shell. They’re actually quite different than the recipe for the Doritos chip which would break apart too easily if used in that manner. The dust is different too. It’s really more like a “Doritos-inspired” shell.

I guess you haven’t ever dealt with the Canadian govt on international matters... they are sticklers for rules and have plenty of them. The whole “Canadians are so nice” is not all that true. For example - if they even think you’re coming to do some work there and don’t have a visa lined up and properly sponsored

Rideshare driving is expressly prohibited by every normal insurance policy. They’ll drop you/won’t cover anything. Need to buy different insurance if you’re doing that.

Probably not. It’s not just the driver, it’s the other people on the road at that time too - they are more likely to be drunk or sleepy. The cold statistics are that even if you’re the best driver in the world it’s inherently less safe to drive at 2am.

Prior to the pandemic I used to get good basic service from the dealer on oil changes - reasonable price comparable with jiffy lube, fast and a nice waiting area. Then during COVID all the long time service reps got replaced with shady hucksters. Last time they tried to tell me I needed a new suspension arm (at $2,000

I read it as her issue is the girl comes off as a stereotypical “girls don’t read grownup books/are superficial” trope. The original article has more context. https://www.texasstandard.org/stories/why-lorelei-linklater-has-a-problem-with-boyhood/

My guess is bankruptcy looms. Late last year I read an article (financial times I think) where the writer did some reporting of what their revenue was like, the cash on hand and the expenses they had. At the burn rate at the time they would run out of money around May unless there was a huge turnaround in fortunes.

Twitter is quickly burning through what money they have left; by the time a suit is resolved in a few years they’ll have been bankrupt for awhile and the issue will be moot. Remember - most of what Musk spent to buy Twitter was to pay off stockholders. That money is already gone leaving behind only what cash on hand

That’s the one. Highly recommend.

A lesser known competitor of HBO that is, remarkably, still in existence and producing original content. They have tended to fuck it up though with cancellations of good shows - like the original run of Party Down and Counterpart, because Counterpart was “not female enough” or something.

Hat Creek is decent too. And better fries.
