Trying to finish up Shenmue 2 and move onto Doom!
I would be very interested to know the development costs for a game like Link’s Awakening (remake). I know we will never know, but I’m interested to know what the ROI is on a game like this. Something tells me actual development costs were paltry considering the return they will probably get on it.
I mean, I already have a ridiculous library of games that I spent money on that are just sitting there collecting dust :P That’s life!
Well, yeah, if you’re buying the Dreamer’s Edition, then you’re all in :P
Wolfenstein Youngblood was still $30 on PS4. And once again, that Blu-Ray is going to eventually end up at $10 on Black Friday. The same can’t be said for Link’s Awakening.
S0 you would pay $100 for it? $500?
I completely understand where you’re coming from and am happy you’ll be able to have fun playing the game soon! I love Zelda and have been playing it all of my life. It comes down to value for me. I know the quality will be there.
Ha, very true. Discount wise, it’s likely it won’t drop in price beyond $40. I’ll try to hold out for that personally.
I weigh out to me if it’s necessarily worth it for me to buy a game for $60. For most games, I am willing to wait. For some, I want to play it immediately so I will pay $60. Not every game is worth $60. I think the industry has to find a way to manage budgets and sales expectations to offer more games at various price…
No, but you can also get discounted tickets at the theater. I go see movies that come out on a Friday on a Tuesday for $5 instead of $10+.
Thanks for the response!
Jason,
I loved BL1. Loved BL2, which I just beat earlier this month. I tried to get through all of the DLC, but it’s a lot and I just was BL’ed out.
UBI is a great concept that doesn’t unfairly punish households where you have a single-income and a SAHP (Stay at Home Parent). Hoping UBI becomes a thing though I doubt it will be with Yang as President.
The pilot of Studio 60 was amazing. And Social Network was a fantastic movie. Oh, and Molly’s Game was really good.
Serious question.
I graduated with no debt. My wife had a little bit. Nothing unmanageable though. I’m getting my MBA and have decided to not do the big prestigious school option to get a more cost-effective one where the cost is little to me.
A gap year is a great idea.
For my wife and I, we really view 18-21 as the opportunity to set them up for success at being an adult. College, work, saving money, etc. We both want to do things different from our parents. While college is glorified, the amount of debt you walk away with just sets you back for the remainder of your 20s, if not…
I plan on doing exactly this for my boys. My wife and I have been taking care of our credit the past year and getting close to that magical ‘750' number. We want to make sure our boys are set up for success when they enter the real world. Also saving $1000/yr for each of them (we have 3 boys) and helping them…
I’m all in on this. March can’t come soon enough for some weird Final Fantasy RPG fun.
