Sometimes the world makes me sad. Then I realize that it's a world where people debate whether heavy munitions can stop a dragon and it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

Standard Catholic dogma ([en.wikipedia.org]).
From what I've heard (not being one to read comics issue-by-issue), the pregnancy is the result a drunken house-party hook-up that she can't quite remember. Of course, that still leaves room for supernatural hijinks if they want to add a dash of the demonic to what sounds dangerously close to an after-school special.
That's true for 4th edition - 2nd and 3rd did just fine in this respect. Plus, this model would allow partisans for different editions to channel their rage into purchases of those modules that qualify as "pure" DnD in their estimation.
My (completely baseless) theory: WoTC releases a minimal "core-set" of rules - the things that haven't changed too much over the editions dealing with basic combat/Role-playing (excepting a few things that can't be finessed like the move away from Thac0). The company then releases a series of "modules" to layer in…
Cute idea - I would have gone for a more realistic body, though, especially in terms of shading/depth. I tend to not like the "flatter" looking tattoos unless they are highly stylized.
Fair enough - I guess my attention was drawn to the part about defining the image of Batman.
What about Bruce Timm and the animated series?
So does that mean the action figures are in the aisle with the dolls? Or is that a bridge too far?
This just scratches the tip of the iceberg - I was at the Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. last month and there are just so many wacky spycraft tools (and quite a few clever ones). The amount of innovation coupled with the willingness to at least prototype unorthodox solutions in this field would make any mad scientist…
I noticed that several commentators point out that some of these works predate the "War on Terror" in their original form. However, one could still argue that the decision to adapt something like the Game of Thrones to television and certain other texts to the big screen.
There must be something wrong with me - my first thought was to wonder why the experiment doesn't give me a reason to care about the outcome.
I think we can combine your reasoning with Annalee's:
Nerd hipsters are the saddest kind.
I am a parent (2 boys and 1 girl) and I wouldn't have any concerns - and I would have had even less concerns when they were in 1st/3rd grade. Do you really think any child cares who the "old lady" that came and read to them does/did for a living? She's just an adult (old person) who never does anything except go…
No, that's Star Trek.
Yes, no one should ever mix scientific fact with politics. Who knows where such madness might lead? Scientists should remain completely apolitical - that's the responsible position that in no way does a disservice to the public.
I am the lead digital editor at my (rather well-known) press and receive a very nice paycheck to write the specifications for our digitization workflows. I invest a generous portion of this paycheck into print books - in fact, I've never owned an eReader device or read an eBook from beginning to end (most of my…
Now all I can think about is how much Romney resembles Mayor Wilkens - a cheerful, anodyne exterior concealing a soulless demonic core. It's just too easy to imagine Romney sacrificing some newborns to ensure that he ascends to the Presidency.
The highest praise I can offer this show: It made me like Chevy Chase again after twenty years of disappointment.
