yeah, this is also definitely one of those things you can blame, if not social media, then certainly undiagnosed ‘main characters syndrome’.

The bottom 10% of society is just sooooo in need of attention:
I think the offenders in the stocks would adapt to the omnipresence of cameras.
Hate to defend George Lopez, but fuck all hecklers. Shut the fuck up. It doesn’t matter that the comments were “positive”. This goes for dipshits singing along and screaming at concerts too.
I’m looking forward to seeing the Henson documentary, but for Henson fans, the multi-part deep dive into Henson’s entire career that Defunctland did a few years ago is absolutely extraordinary and a must-watch.
Yeah the article mentions how the docs got all the surviving Beach Boys together, or unprecedented access to Henson’s family and inner circle, and then wonders why the resulting docs aren’t hit pieces that dig into all the dirty secrets.
Shame that the Beach Boys documentary isn’t more than a puff piece. Brian Wilson isn’t in the best of health right now so who knows how long he will be around to tell his story.
Eminem has been shit for way longer than he has been great. He had a stellar run of albums in the late 90s and early 2000s. And now he continues to dump on his legacy with every new release. This has nothing to do with his politics, it’s just obvious that he’s tired and has nothing to say anymore.
I think Incredibles 3 could be fine... if it didn’t take Incredibles 2 so long to come out. I mean that in and of itself kind of proves that it was very hard for them to come up with a decent enough idea/script to make it all work. And I think most people agree that it’s not as good! So swinging for 3 is a tough sell,…
Luca rules fight me.
I loved Onward, and I still feel that Brave is one of Pixar’s best movies. But the last few years? Yikes. Elemental wasn’t just bad for a Pixar movie, it was legitimately awful. My kids couldn’t even finish it. The person responsible for The Good Dinosaur probably shouldn’t have been given another movie to direct.
Another fundamental issue for me is their style is stale. At its core, every Pixar film has the same feel. The same movement of the characters. The same kind of mic drop humor where a character freezes and something plops to the ground. They can conjure anything they want, and they just repeat the same kinds of…
My two cents, feel free to debate: I feel like the relatively tepid critical reception (I do not care about box office) of Pixar’s last several years’ worth of original films (as opposed to sequels) is because their blend of whimsy and deep emotion (with stellar writing, plotting, and casting) was pretty amazing for a…
I’ll reserve judgement on the new guy for now, as it always takes me a couple of episodes to get used to a new one, but I am amused by the running “mavity” gag, and wondering how they are going to pay it off. Although, if they never pay it off and are still straightfacedly saying “mavity” five years from now I might…
Okay, now that I’ve watched the episode, here’s my favorite moment.
The Doctor sadly saying “I’m adopted, too” when talking with Ruby.
YES. THANK YOU. HOLY CRAP.
The Timeless Child has been all about the “lore” of the show. Chibnall never looked at it from that perspective, despite (ironically) being adopted himself.
How…
I think you mean Jillie Pipelman.
That’s the famous British star Jenna Billie Louise Piper Coleman
I’ll take Davies worship over the opposite, which seems to be Youtubers that decry all three 60th anniversary specials as focusing on a LGBT/political/woke agenda instead of just what they consider to be “good sci-fi”.
Agreed. Even in the three specials, I could see Davies’ best and worst tendencies at play.
BEST: He focuses on human stories in the middle of fantastical settings, first and foremost. He introduces a new character, you get them and sympathize with them almost instantly. And when pressed, he can create great tension in…
