I'm pretty sure Phi Phi has already blamed the editing for this episode (citing "context," I believe), but as I've been asking since at least last week, what would a good Phi Phi edit look like?

Can you say projecting???

Oh yes, that's the X factor Alyssa represents. Phi Phi is a bit more conspicuous about her game plan than she appears to think she is, if we are to fall victim to blaming the edit (lol).

Oh, what a frustrating episode:

Cordelia: "I just don't see why everyone's always picking on Marie-Antoinette. I can so relate to her. She worked really hard to look that good, and people just don't appreciate that kind of effort. And I know the peasants were all depressed…"

Also, I didn't like any of her looks in season 5, but I'm loving some of these. Some.

So many random thoughts, so here we go:
- The singer who provided the Marie Antoinette track did most of the work for Detox. Really, that was a phenomenal vocal performance Detox got to lipsynch to.
- Wow, they CAME for Katya's look (how did they expect her to do choreography with a giant train?). Thank you Ru for that

I mean, I guess it has something to do with the theme of latex, and since it's a latex rubber swimming suit, adding rubber ducks makes some sort of internal logic. It's still stupid, though.

It just felt like a really, really strategic choice for the bottom three (and even top two) to keep Phi Phi in because she's good TV. Which I guess is the whole point, but sometimes the string pulling is just a little too transparent.

Adore leaving was so disappointing (and it makes me wonder if it would've affected Tatianna's standing). Also, can people on Facebook fucking not with spoilers? I read a comment last week that predicted Adore's departure. Leave that shit to Reddit. Ugh.

2) My friends and I couldn't believe Tatianna was eliminated — or, more precisely, that she was in the bottom three. Her Ariana Grande wasn't winning material, but it was in the safe realm — more so than Phi Phi's impersonation, which really failed to land a single joke (it had the same nervous energy of her ersatz

I wholeheartedly agree with the former but fail to understand why so many people hate the latter. If it's the stratospheric vocalization, well, I quite enjoy that — but then, I've always sought after the best High Q#s in pop and classical (for a good place to start, Mariah Carey's MTV Unplugged performance of

I don't think "Happy" is a bad song at all — it was just played so much that few can remember liking it in the first place.

Can we also discuss Detox's hair and EYEBROWS in the confessional? I mean, WHAT?!

Keep in mind, the judges' critiques are heavily edited and what we saw was probably only a small portion of what she said to Adore. Yes, it was harsh, but she kind of had a point, and we didn't hear what she said about the talent side of things.

It's really amazing what I'm granted access to as a white man even though I'm a member of a highly marginalized group.

Ding ding ding. Homophobia is so closely related to sexism — they both stem from our society's devaluing of anything deemed feminine. Straight men are therefore expected to rigidly adhere to a very narrow concept of masculinity.

When I go out with the guys from work, I'm amazed at all the degrading, sexist things they say about women. They know I'm gay, but they still won't hesitate to say things they wouldn't say around women. Yeesh.

You mean the way it ended with #andamovie?

I know he's a multitalented artist and needs to do what he feels he needs to do for his career and personal development, but man, from a purely selfish perspective, departing 6 episodes into season 5 just left a bad taste in my mouth. Troy was my favorite character, and he left a big gaping hole in the show that was
