This. Instead of actual gameplay-forward ideas, the writer knocks on points that are minute and miniscule. A cheap example are how if your sneak skill is really high, then you can stand in front of them and still be invisible. We could have a whole subject about how silly that is, and methods to avoid that issue.

This is a great example of how to NOT have fun at video games. Skyrim is already stupidly simple at letting you have fun and letting your character benefit from that. If doing menial tasks to make your numbers get bigger your idea of fun, then go play with a calculator.

I'm voting yes on this. My children have a Gamecube. Blizzard needs to think of the children.

Ugh, the awful New Vegas final battle, where there was less than 8 NPCs on at a time.

If you invest in a project that doesn't reach their goal, you don't lose a dime, according to Kickstarter.

:(

Rock, Paper, Shotgun's article about this douchebag said it best. I hope they get Sony'd up the ass.

So I was wandering through the wilderness when a thief runs up to me, throws a Mace of Smithing in my arms, and tells me to keep it safe until he comes back to get it. The thief runs off, and a hunter approaches me, asking about the thief. There's a bear that spots the two of us talking and charges at us. The bear

I built a budget gaming PC for 500 bucks. It has a GTX 460 and a triple-core processor. Game runs extremely smooth on high settings at 1600x1200. It's already visually beautiful. I barely can tell the difference if I set it lower. I'll never understand the gamer who wants max settings on everything.

You don't remember the Nintendo Seal of Approval?! That's a seal of approval you should get behind!

I don't mean it like that. I'm talking about the people who will strap a rubber band on a controller and leave the game running for 2 days. It's sorta cheating already by doing that - might as well save the effort and use console cheats.

DLC like that could have saved countless horses in my game from being torched by a dragon... if only they were more visually attractive. Sigh, there needs to be more DLC like that.

Did you mess around with the FOV command?

That's how I always felt. If you're going to exploit a system by spending countless hours doing something mundane, why not save the time and effort and just cheat?

I still don't understand how that is a barrier of entry moreso than a gameplay mechanic. It's comparable to any other game. You're not going to automatically get a rocket launcher until you pass a certain part of the game. Or get the hookshot until you beat the water temple. Well, you're not going to build dragon

PC gaming is about working under the hood. You want to up the resolution, then tweak it. You want the game to run in 3 monitors, tweak it. You want the game to work with your dance pad, tweak it.

How many games are you playing that last 100-200 hours?

What do you mean you can't level it any higher? Are you referring to the perks? There's no caps in my opinion. If you want to max out Archery to 100, then go for it. There is no artificial barrier that stops you from doing that. Nothing at all, outside of the time commitment it takes to get there.

That could be true. And actually, I remember being WOW'ed by FF4 and those sweet airships intro. But isn't that also sad? If Final Fantasy can no longer attract us, it's no longer needed in our lives?

I've never played Sins, but I heard a lot about it. I respect you as a person, BubbleF**kingBuddy. I played Masters of Orion, Freelancer, Homerworld, Heroes of Might and Magic — you name the PC strategy game, and I've played it. What makes Sin so good? And why is casual a bad thing?
