I love this movie so much. Boorman's commentary on the DVD is priceless. Apparently it was difficult in the 1970s to find Irish extras willing to go topless on film, and the whole thing was filmed in Ireland. "Very near my house," as he constantly tells us.

Well, as slow, thoughtful, and episodic as it is, it's definitely more suited for TV than the movies. Seems to me they'd have to go with a voiceover, though.
