It’s early. Either City or Liverpool will probably win. The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but that is the way to bet, per Damon Runyon, but stuff happens, both teams will have a season long target on their backs and injuries can occur. Allison’s status is currently uncertain. Tottenham

Correct call, per the rule? A foul is committed if the ball contacts the offensive player’s hand or arm and the player either gains possession or creates a scoring chance. Neither of those last two things happened. After hitting La Porte’s arm (which was being pulled, but let’s only focus on some nit picky fouls) and

Woooooo! Da, da DOT.

Isn’t a Lime Hardclaw basically just a Gin Rickey, but made without fresh lime juice? No thanks.

Also illegal was the defender pulling LaPorte, but I guess only some nitpicky calls should be made, eh? The difference is that the pulling was intentional, the contact to the arm was unintentional. It also hit the defender’s arm, should that be a handball too. I think in UCL it could get called because the UCL

Right to him? Heck, Alderwerield was in a better position to get to it, but didn’t react as well.

Part of the reason it hit his arm is that he was being grabbed and pushed by the defender. It’s a ticky tack call and it bounced to an open space that Jesus got to first. It didn’t come directly to him, La Porte is on the right side of the six yard box and Jesus gets it at practically the other side of the box. The

To be fair Lloris played his ass off and got some help with a couple of off the line clearances from the defense. Spurs were lucky with their offense. Two shots on target and two goals doesn’t happen much, but it happens often enough. That’s soccer.

The rule is the problem. I’m not a fan of handball being given were there’s no intent and no real advantage. It’s funny. I’m a City fan and I hated both of last week’s VAR decisions (yes, even the one that gave Aguero another penalty) although acknowledge both were technically correct.

Don’t listen to what he says, watch what he does. So much of what he says is just distraction.

Donald Trump says a lot of stuff, much of it just to get a reaction so that we won’t pay attention to what he’s doing. Watch what he does instead.

VAR should exist for overturning obvious errors. If someone is clearly bought down and the referee misses it, that’s what it should be there for. If the referee calls a foul and on VAR it definitely looks like a dive, wave it off. I think they are relying too much on VAR.

Yep, job one is win your league. Liverpool have come close, but that doesn’t really count.

It was amazing how few yellow cards were issued given the persistent fouling. They gave a goal kick off a challenge that had the defender cleating the shin. It was rough. The second penalty was a little soft, but there were clearer penalties that didn’t get called. Rapinoe got mugged on one.

Yeah, the ref did lose control.

The final yellow card should have been red. A late challenge with cleats into the ankle should be red, especially after VAR, but maybe they thought Cameroon would freak out even more.

England’s back line is not going to get them very far if they continue to play that poorly.

Etta and Ella, both fantastic.
