Change is Gonna Come. Sam Cooke is an icon. He’s like Aretha, Ray, Jimi, Stevie. One whose talent is just incandescent.

The Clash aka the only band that matters. Punk and new wave are the touchstones of my youth. When I was recently visiting my youngest son in Chicago he had Joy Division and New Order on his playlist. Aerosmith and Rush for me was high school and Elvis Costello was college.

I love Spotify. I’ve been on a Phillip Glass kick while at work; it’s classical minimalism so it works well as background music, but after whatever album I’ve picked plays out Spotify will just start playing things in a similar vein. I’ve heard some pretty stuff. The Twin Peaks theme song by Angelo Badalamenti was
