I agree. Like Harley motorcycles, once the people who love these cars die off, nobody else will care. Certain really valuable models will continue to be traded but the run of the mill ‘60's cars that today are selling for $20K or more will fall in value.

I’ve had the same thought as you on this, though I’m in the opposite boat in the sense that I’m in my late 20s and have zero interest in these cars. I think the market for them will disappear as older boomers age out and leave them to their kids, who want nothing to do with the cars and sell them for whatever the

I don’t subscribe to the idea that debadging necessarily means body work or anything else bad. Some people just like a cleaner look.

Nice mazdaspeed3 sedan you have there.

For the same price of less you can get a C30 which is far more interesting than this S40.

I am a tail end baby boomer, I have strong and entirely selfish hopes that the market for 60s and 70s cars with carburators and clutches will collapse pray least soften in the next ten years as their owners age out.

The transmission is also a torque converter automatic...

The denial is strong with the seller.  Here’s an excerpt from the CL ad:

He then said that the market was now so weak because a lot of the enthusiasts in that generation had died off.”

Sounds like some WRX owners.

This is a tough one. The boy-racer changes, especially the turbo and exhaust, plus de-badging things, is a red flag. What else was done that he’s not admitting to and how much has it been flogged?

The front half looks like a late 80's Acura Legend Coupe, or whatever that would have been sold in Thailand as. I bet someone got rear-ended, grafted the later Accord rear to it and then said WTF, and tried to safarize it.

Yeah, a few others mentioned it before me and that’s what set me on the right path. I just took a closer look and wrote out every similarity for others to catch on to.

I would go along with this Rover coupe theory as well. Rover coupe which got wrecked so someone grafted on a new tail (accord or rover coupe) and new nose (taken from another pic in this thread) to save money since they couldn’t find Rover parts.

I also have not found out what this is. However, it looks like the trunk of a ~1992 Accord was grafted on.

The front of the mk3 Accord without popup lights is a strong match.

I think it's an extremely cut up Honda of some kind. But that's probably as close as we're going to get. It's a mess.

Looks almost, but not quite, like a Rover 800 coupe. And those were based on Honda Accords. That’s definitely an Accord door handle, and the taillight/trunk lid shape says 3rd generation Accord as well. I think the funny black line is probably gunk or a sagging bit of trim and not the door shut line.

Relax man. You were nuts when you started writing here.
