I dunno, I liked Pepper’s “Use the Force, Han.”

That was exactly my thought as well.

“So fuckin’ bored, Hank.” Word.

I think I like redneck Scarlet more than actual Scarlet.

Very much agreed.

They would just pop out of the lake and tell you that you were swimming wrong and that they are REALLY worried about you, maybe you should use your arms more? Your legs? I mean were you REALLY trying?

I don’t think people is a fashion magazine.

lol there are many of you and you are legion. people are very correct that it was dubious af and she was very young, but there was a massive difference between her brutal rape on tv and the experience she had in the books.

You’re right, it is horrible when it happens in the books. I think the reason I find this so upsetting (and I haven’t watched the episode, I have read all the books though) is that, when the showrunners said they were diverging from the books’ storyline, I thought, “Great! There’s a lot of things they could tighten

My twin sister and I kinda resent that a little

For real though, the movie had a really interesting point to make about self-determination. It’s not just about the women, who were born and bred to give birth or give milk-although THAT particular theme was plainly obvious-the “war boys” were born to be slaves, too, destined to go to war and die to go to Valhalla.

There is literally nothing worse than someone who doesn’t understand / is a pedant about hyperbole.

Jon Stewart: “Tommy...you cheating fucker.”

I will admit that my knowledge of Islam is limited, and I did not know that the opposition is not universal. That’s very interesting, especially that it’s in relation to two groups who I understand to have long been frequently at violent odds with one another. (All the same, still not drawing their Prophet ;) )

Another commenter pointed out that not all Muslims care about their Prophet being depicted (#notallMuslims, har har), and if that’s the case, great - I know little about Islam, so I’m just going to err on the side of caution and not do the thing that will likely piss off a lot of them.

I just thought they looked alike...

Yeah, this is a good reminder that being a victim of a terrorist attack doesn't automatically make one a free speech hero.

It’s frightening. She was HOPING for an attack, which means she cared little for the safety of her staff, the cops, or the attendees.

That’s how I feel. No, they absolutely do not deserve to be killed for it. Yes, they absolutely have the legal freedoms to do it. But it’s intentionally shitting on something that is important to people - where’s the fun in that?

It’s because people are assholes. When you ask them “i’d really like it if you didn’t do that” some people’s brain cells immediately fire up their “DON’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO” reflex.
