Yeah, Tesla wants to switch off of it, but frankly they don’t have the industry impact to do it.

I think it’ll happen in then next half-decade as all the big guys (who are fundamentally OEM integrators and therefore have real impact on what the OEMs make or spec to) like VW and GM adopt the EV platfrom.

I think at a

This site has little issue with “drill baby drill”. This is false handwringing and just astroturfing for petroleum companies.

Watching mail trucks start stop constantly without a hybrid drivetrain just blows my mind. Well, until the contract winner for the replacement got porked out to someone that ALSO won’t be a hybrid drivetrain.

The best workout I do when “getting back into shape” is to inteject a 4-5minute high intensity cardio interval in between lifting sets like these. You’ll squeeze in 20-30 minutes of high intensity interval training in between the lifting exercises, although you probably compromise some of the hypertrophy this way.

This site is contractually obligated by its sponsors and advertisers to ignore Tesla, unless of course it is negative coverage.

Basically, this article is a summation of why Tesla is still 5 years ahead.

Are you talking about Viasat or Starlink?

Moron.

Hey Dick Cameltoe, 5G does not extend everywhere, and contends with... cell phones. I have used both a 5G internet service and starlink, and by now starlink is better by a fair amount.

It also doesn’t solve the needs of people in Africa, Australia, Asia, India, South America, Northern Canada, etc etc etc.

Yes it’s

“Spacelopnik” Yeah, ok. Whatever necessary to issue Musk hit jobs.

Go ask the people that replaced Viasat with Starlink how much they like it.

Go look how many rural people in the first/second/third world can use starlink.

I love how this place only cares about accounting and finance if Musk is involved. Cash Infusion

Um, the big improvement is the EV. Even crappy EVs have a fundamentally superior experience (smell/emissions, noise, ride, zippiness, home charging, etc) for everyday driving.

ICE innovation is going to stop (it probably already has), the only major ICE research will be in range extending hybrid EV drivetrains with the

Interstate likely qualifies it for federal funding, and it functions as an extension to a main interstate network highway in this case.

“Can we please repeal Juneteenth, Black History Month, MLK day, and remove MLK’s name from streets as soon as you cowtow to my request for censorship? That way I don’t have my calendar or my maps reminding me what a piece of shit I am.

Sorry your little white world was mildly disturbed, “snowflake”.

The options are more expensive that cars that are faster than it (acceleration, actual track course racing). Like a Tesla Plaid.

“real carmakers take over”

Uh, with what battery factories? With inferior batteries and inferior ranges and inferior drivetrains? You mean the ones that are just OEM assemblers and have no mainstream scale EV vendors to hit even tesla’s numbers for at least 5 years?

What a clueless post this is, usual blind Musk

Torch the moron yet again. Tesla throws a lot of crap at the wall to see what sticks, and may be full of shit in many ways in FSD, but it’s car performance features have basically been delivered reliably, if not on the advertised schedule.

I love all the fretting about safety from a blog that openly praises driving

EV drivetrains are supposed to be simpler, therefore smaller. Right now the batteries are bulky, but a decade of refinement will probably solve that for the conversions.

By then, the engine compartment should provide a usable 200 mile range and an EV motor to replace any old engine in less space.

Another option is

Prototype that won’t be available for 1-6 years has same acceleration as Teslas have had for a decade.

It’s brand new news to Jalopnik! Hey guys, can you BELIEVE this? UNPRECEDENTED.

The cost in that case is the environmental destruction and pollution? The same “cost” that is threatening our long term viability as a species and global ecosystem from global warming and species mass extinction?

Yeah, ok. I love bullshit economics.

Hey look, a petroleum industry hit piece breathlessly and uncritically parroted by jalopnik!

I’d accuse conspiracy, but it’s actually just bad journalism.

Unlike the modern ode to classical artistic perfection that is the pickup truck?

Pickup trucks are disgustingly ugly, but due to decades of advertising preying on male inferiority, we think they are “awesome”.

The cybertruck isn’t a particularly attractive vehicle.

But the truth all truckheads hide from is that pickup

We are the richest country on earth”

WRONG

We are the country with the richest people. “Typical Americans” have been steadily falling behind the rest of the first world for four decades now.

That’s the whole “wealth inequality” thing. Oligarchy. Rigged system. Unregulated campaign finance.
