Toyota: It’s EV vaporware designs to mollify investors.

Although I’ve heard that they mostly intend to pursue PHEVs, which actually makes sense given available battery supply and their scale.

Hydrogen is a waste of time though. You can’t source it efficiently compared to solar/wind —> grid —> battery.

Crossovers are station wagons, as posited by this very site.

I do not for the life of me understand why it took so frikkin long for PHEVs to come to minivans. And Chrysler was the one who had to do it.

An EV Minivan is another slam dunk. Super strong protection and stability from a rigid skateboard? Great towing numbers? Mostly used to cart kids around town so nightly charging

We already live in the world that resulted in the NCAA basketball final overturning a clear strip out of bounds based on a couple pixels of a pinky finger.

When you pass semis, you will naturally slow down. DO NOT DO THIS.

When you enter the left lane, speed up to the general speed of people that use the left lane, don’t just plop into the left lane at your current right lane speed to pass someone going even slower in the right lane.

Do not camp in the left lane.
Do not

... was the schedule a wee bit harder?

- Baggage fees
- Stupidly unreliable claim wait times
- Avoiding lost baggage
- Avoiding extra checkin line overhead

Oil is getting more and more expensive to extract, which was what peak oil was fundamentally about in the first place.

And the environmental damage of current “cheap” oil from fracking or (shudder) the alberta tar sands is ludicrous

Tailwinds and driving downhill from the rockies and drafting off of semis

Credits and that market bullshit are conservative ideas, meant to simulate market economics. It’s the right wing that thinks markets fix everything.

We could just impose harsh regulations and put noncompliance companies out of business. Is that better? Oh you don’t like government regulation? Seems like communism?

Um, if the increased requirements for overall compliance represent a reduction in carbon emissions, what does it matter if once company wants to further paint itself into a corner of obsolescence if the overall progress on efficiency/emissions control is being maintained?

I don’t care if the net effect of the law is to

But are they “luxury”?

1) it is misleading how Tesla marketed this

2) salespeople don’t do that with reckless driving, texting behind the wheel, DUI, and certainly don’t have drivers pass certification tests on high-HP cars.

If they did, every jalopniker here would complain about excessive nanny state/lawyer state regulations on muh fweedome.

Your more apples to oranges than I am.

0-60 tesla p100d will take any 911.

Please don’t drive 100mph on highways.

I don’t think VW understands that the male buying public of America have self-perceptions of their penis sizes constantly shrinking, maybe due to rising obesity rates. The only solution for these men is to buy bigger pickups.

Musk said “a 911". That’s the bar. A Tesla truck will have insane torque for acceleration, so Model S stats, ludicrous or otherwise, should provide some insight into acceleration abilities. A P100D is about the cost of an entry level 911. I guess when the roadster 2.0 comes out we can start doing equivalents at that

Since we are a corporate-dominated country with an offensive-focused world-dominating mercenary armed force almost solely used for imperialist domination and intimidation, this was actually quite honest, although the real corporate flag should have been an oil company’s.

I forget, is the saber rattling on Iran dead

Video games will generate most of the 8k content. It gets annoying every time 4k and 8k was mentioned that all people think about is passive entertainment.

Video gaming is the market for these things.

The fact that they have to take interior space for the PHEV or HEV versions of cars just seems like an afterthought and lazy design.

If you have a paid-off car, you’re generally being environmentally friendly not replacing it from what I’ve read.

Although in reality with the huge used car demand, you’d prevent someone from buying another ICE used if you got a new PHEV.
