Your move, Bakersfield.
Your move, Bakersfield.
This is such a massive bummer. I’m a huge fan of the Grizzlies and they’ve done so many good things over the last couple of years (they offer free space to local non-profits for meetings and events, they’ve worked hard to be a part of the downtown community, they support and even make merchandise supporting immigrants…
“This would be almost every bit as much fun if it happened to the Knicks or Heat or Celtics or Warriors”
If anything it helped the Bulls. They traded him to the Knocks for two unprotected picks. It was his absolute butt play that helped those picks turn out to be Joakim Noah and LeMarcus Aldridge.
This is true, but I guess I just think about a guy being the consensus #1 and wanting that to translate into 15 years as a good, then great, then viable late career option.
The abrupt decline of the Jay Hey Kid makes me sad, even if I’ve never cared about any of the teams he’s played for.
The problem is there are plenty of guys who can make that catch in RF and not be paid $300 mil to do it.
I agree - I don’t recall ever thinking Harper was an above-average fielder. I didn’t think he was even an average fielder. (In fact, after posting 1.5dWAR his rookie year, his MVP season was the only other dWAR above 0.0. So, average defensive play.)
I find it interesting that you believe the Kenny Williams administration has ended.
No one is saying that you sit your best players in the first OT to hedge against future OTs. But once you hit that third OT, maybe it should have been obvious that some players - Kanter and Jokic in particular - are going to be only about half as effective at that point, and that subbing for them makes sense? Hood’s…
The discipline peripherals early on are suggesting it may not be a fluke. Chasing less, more contact.
That’s $430mil on a player ... I’ll have you know.
This is the Chris Davis of takes. At one point people thought it was good, and in certain contexts it was great, but it just keeps getting trotted out there whether it makes sense or not.
So by the time this guy was 25, he had been married, was a D-1 basketball assistant coach and then a head coach, had an affair with one of his players, got that player pregnant, resigned from his head coaching job and then got divorced?
Everyone knows the best way to get a cat to come to you is to start doing something where a cat would get in the way.
You’re right, he doesn't work in an office. He works at a fucking school.
Pay them, then
Man, Dell Demps was an embarrassing GM working for an embarrassing organization whole years before Windhorst reported that the Pelicans torpedoed the Lakers via trade talks.
Absolutely not! But it was the only reported narrative, and it follows a path of logic, and it is no less credible than what Shams reported today. You’re privileging a statement from an anonymous Pelicans source with every bit as much conflict as those behind the earlier story, in order to give me shit about blogging…
Uhh, Windhorst was asked point blank by Rachel Nichols if the Pelicans were leaking the trade discussion in order to humiliate the Lakers, and he said, unequivocally, that that was the case. Then Magic Johnson openly accused the Pelicans of negotiating in bad faith. Now, exactly a month later, comes a report that an…
