Reading these quotes alone was enough for me to get high. Thanks Giri.

Jim Brady for sure calls his wife a bitch under his breath, from a different room...15 minutes after they’ve talked. But still, in front of his kids.
This point is 20 years old by now, but, boxing, horse-racing, and baseball have all held and lost the pinnacle of the American sports landscape. It can happen. Over a long enough timeframe, it will happen to football, even if it isn’t laid low by its immediate issues.
It’s not dumb to be in a youth group. It’s just a fact of life for a lot of people, and even if you’re not a super churchy person it’s nice to have peer groups. (Signed, pastor’s kid who is definitely not dumb.)
I think probably this whole thing just got overreported. Woj’s reports have bordered on the histrionic, but nobody else really said much of anything other than the sides hadn’t really engaged. Sounds like the deal was made, Cavs ran a physical and it was a bit worse than expected, they thought it over with their docs…
hell yeah......that’s why i watch sportscenter......standings...i fuckin love to wait 20 minutes to see a static image of something i can also find by googling “baswba;; standibgs” while on the treadmill without breaking stride
Scocca thinks he’s sandbagging to some mysterious end; what I can’t figure out is how that would benefit him to the point where he’d masquerade as a clown in all available footage of him boxing.
Why did they slow down the video?
But the A’s have also done that with a payroll in the bottom 10 in the league for basically that entire stretch. Beane is the most efficient GM at turning money spent into wins, but teams with 3-4x as much money don’t need to be very efficient to end up with a better overall team
Really? You make a drug reference regarding how mellow Jamaica was and you pick Valium? JAMAICA?
The only thing more boring than a puff piece on ESPN about the cubs waving at each other is another article critiquing the first article. Bye Emma!
Watching Harper and Murphy trying to outscore their bullpen is like watching the Freeze.
Just looking at the playoffs since the format change in 95, I see a 100 win Cleveland team (95), a 99 win Cleveland team (96), a 101 win Braves team (97), a 98 win Orioles team (97), a 103 win Braves team (99), a 100 win Arizona team (99), a 116 win Seattle team (01), a 102 win A’s team (01), a 103 win Yankees team…
Not a single one of those three SF Giants titles were won by a team favored to win their league. The last one might have been the most egregious of the three; dead to the neck up in July, they snuck into the wild card on the last day and then rode Madbum all the way to the finish line. That wasn’t even an objectively…
Chris Archer is also the biggest bargain in that he has 2-3 years more of contract at less than $10M per year. The Astros would have to trade away its entire farm system to even get the slightest interest.
Can’t be Sania, I believe she is currently studying to be a Master in Degrees or something. Hard to tell because she doesn’t speak much about it.
Cherry picking a low scoring Big Ten game from 2012 doesn’t make any point about the conference as a whole. UNC scored 43 points in one game this year. That doesn’t mean UNC is boring or high profile players don’t want to play there (clearly). ACC teams averaged 74 points per game last year. Big Ten teams averaged 73.
I have no rooting interest in the Knicks but a guy yelling on TV about a team executive whose first move was signing a guy on crack is a story regardless of proximity to New York.
Here’s the difference between a smart basketball executive and a dumb one.
You just gotta have a better line to Joey Votto than “I remember when you used to be good”, which even as a NYM fan I have to say is fairly nonsensical. The comeback is classic.
