I know! Joey Votto is still good! Has never not been good!
Happ’s been off to a really rough start this season
Let me tell you about this little event called The Malice in the Palace. That’s why you don’t do it. It’s not about the kids, its about not engaging and escalating.
The point of the game is to win the World Series. So if you think controlling a Relief Pitcher for 5.5 years is more important than a WS, well I don’t know what to tell you Sam Hinkie...
A perfect example is the 2017 Cubs for why you make that trade every time. This is a team that is supposed to win every year for the next 5-7 years. Well so far they aren’t going to even make the playoffs this year. Although I believe the Cubs will turn it around this year and continue to be a playoff team, if you…
Agreed, who cares if Rivero is 28 and racking up 30 saves in 2020 when the Nats position players are old and Bryce Harper has left and the team wins 70 games a year.
Correct on Torres had nowhere to play on the Cubs. However if he goes on to have a HOF career and Russell becomes a career .230 hitter who never takes the next step offensively (and Baez never learns to take a walk) the trade will still be seen as a success because the Cubs won the WS in 2016 with Chapman anchoring…
Cubs traded a much better prospect for “only” 26 innings of Aroldis Chapman.
Addison Russell seems to be an enigma to me. He is hard to read. Sometime’s he comes off aloof and a little dull. Other times engaging and interesting.
Clearly you missed all the “can’t hit” jokes on the domestic violence article yesterday. But keep them coming they are so funny and SOOOOO original.
Houston Nutt and Hugh Freeze. Those are some names. That is all.
Homeboy just called it Smashville.
Let me get this straight... Two unemployed and rich brothers born and raised in basically a football fraternity day drink with their college age son/nephew over the weekend at a bar called Margaritaville and hit on a bunch of girls in matching bachelorette outfits???
He is actually one of the longest tenured players in Reds history. He’s not exactly Scooter Gennett either.
Because it’s the pitchers job to throw the ball near the batter, so when “it slips” he can deny any motives. Charging the mound with your helmet cocked in your hand, your motives are pretty clear.
that predated his year and a half of domination in Chicago.
Neil Ramirez was a stud for the Cubs when he first came up in 2014. Was going to be one of the cornerstones of the bullpen. Has been unable to recreate that success since getting injured in 2015. Seems like his issue has been control.
So what you are telling me is it took an extra out and 4 more pitchers than what a 21 year old rookie Kerry Wood accomplished by himself?
