I try not to pick apart art by it’s components. I think, like most lyricists, he can be hit or miss. But I also think he is often times mind-boggling clever and (self)insightful.

Well this isn’t surprising at all. I used to collect Takara dolls and with all special/limited releases they held a raffle to see who got to purchase. Yes resellers still had a system to get a bunch....but it was always cool if you got to be special and get one on first release at retail price.
