The gag is that it totally removes any ability of some women to take any sort of high ground when talking about the ickiness of media and the treatment of women or, just anybody in general, on it.

I love that Arie is so dumb that he went along with the public breakup. I’m sure ABC pressured him to do it on TV but what kind of idiot goes along with that? Lots of Bachelors breakup with their chosen one shortly after. They don’t do it live because they know it will make them look like total a-holes.

I do have a friend who is a trans woman, that performs drag in Chicago. To be honest, its not really drag (I guess the term is faux drag) - because that’s her daily look amplified. She is still an excellent performer and a way better looking woman than I will ever be!

Of all the talented writers to cross through Gawker it’s distressing that Brian Moylan is still a working journalist and so many of his betters are not.

I don’t think he is being unreasonable here at all. He accepts trans people and welcomes them. But it really is different when they start formal transition when its a drag competition. And, yes, there are always going to be blurry lines about when a transition really starts. Because gender is not a black and white
