Will this prevent the warping issues of the console? Screen scratching from the dock? Cause the switch to render games at my TV’s native resolution? Allow me to use voice communications without an absurdly complex series of wires, phones, and apps? Get rid of the horrible controller desyncing issues? Get rid of the

Really, you don’t say? 2/3 of steam gamers played on laptops in 2015?

I’m very tired of Nintendo handhelds. Playing for any length of time on controllers designed for children is crippling.

Uh...1080p was the standard in 2007 for PCs when the PS3 came out. Before LCD flatscreens, the standard was a more square shaped 1280x1024 CRT. When everquest came out in 1999, some people were already running 800x600 (higher than the 720x480 of the Wii which released in 2006).

Yes, Xenoblade. I played Xenogears first (it’s the best unfinished rpg), and briefly remember Xenosaga coming out a few years later, and now with Xenoblade my xeno-’s are messed up.

I’ve always said, emulators are the only way to play anything Nintendo. Their console hardware is always 5 to 10 years behind and full of inconsequential hardware gimmicks. Xenogears was also a lot of fun when it wasn’t a blurry Wii turd.

Excellent post. Probably the best article I’ve seen on deadspin in the past 5 years.

It works for free to play multiplayer games with zero content. It does not work for single player games with lots of content. If they want more money, they need to make more games, not charge people more.

Troop production should be faster, and technology research slower, or at least an option to make them so. I hate how wars take two ages/eras just to make any significant progress.

The best way to play Witcher 3 is with the minimap disabled, UI only pop up during combat, and only allow yourself to access the map if you are next to an NPC (to simulate asking for directions).

Blame the Phils. For whatever reason Microsoft only promotes incompetence.

Destiny has classes?

For a moment I was excited that this might be update on Deep Down, based on the screenshot. But then I realized it was just that lazy cash in sequel to the worlds most disappointing FPS franchise: Destiny.

Early access games are the scourge of this hobby. You pay a premium to play shitty incomplete bargain bin games which you will definitely never play again should they ever actually release as a final product.

One day developers will realize that competitive shooters are like MMO’s, and only a handful can be supported by the market because they require people stay interested in them for years at a time.

My only complaint with the Civ series, is that it is really difficult to gear up for a war, wage a war, and end a war within the same era. The pace of technological discovery is too fast compared to how long it takes to produce a unit.

Truck drivers with a Commercial Driver License can make $80,000 driving for oil companies. Sounds like a profitable hobby to me.

The fact that anyone needs all those accessories pictured in your photo indicates to me it is a bad system that was poorly designed. Hopefully they fix the many shortcomings in their next revision of the console, otherwise this is going to be another flop.

Adventure modules and content should cost money. The books should cost money. This app should be free as a way to pull in more people to buy the other products and assist them in using those products. WotC, like Games Workshop, is out of its mind for throwing up barriers to bringing in new people to the hobby.

Two things will kill (if it is not dead already) VR: 1. No quality controls for the platform lead to mountains of very low quality games ala atari, 2. Lack of open source and portability of games between headsets. The Occulus Rift’s walled garden app store immediately fragmented the market for VR applications, turning
