The track officials and instructors had set up the cones and timing so that clockwise was the intended direction. I’m not saying that it was the smartest or safest, but on that day, clockwise was the correct direction.
It’s hard to say. I’ve had a decent amount of experience driving supercars, but only once on track before Disney. I drove an lp-560 around Daytona. Honestly, both experiences had their “hairy” parts.
