My main problem with that move is that he expended all of his social capital without a single benefit. He pissed everyone off for no reason and still had to fight from the bottom the whole way to the end. It also painted an even bigger target on his back.

I didn't even really think the DSM song in the finale was all that great. The final two numbers in the first movie were way more exciting. DSM was good, but robotic, and the Bellas were so treacly and boring.
