Eh, I would not describe Evan McMullin as a social conservative. He's supported civil rights and has always criticized Trump for his stance on Muslims and refugees. This was bad writing by the AV Club and they should have just referred McMullin as a conservative.

Are you sure that wasn't Danny Kannell? That dude's Twitter feed is filled with CTE denial and a supposed "War-on-football" by the liberal media.

I suppose it would have been too much to ask him to not talk about himself or his politics at an event for Boy Scouts. He can't help himself.

As an Eagle Scout and current Assistant Scoutmaster, I'm really pissed off at the Boy Scouts for inviting Trump. He's the antithesis of what a Scout should be and the fact that they invited him is disgraceful.

I believe that this has been confirmed by Tolkien in one of his letters. He designed the map of Middle Earth being reminiscent of Europe/Asia.

You are an odd fellow but I must say, you steam a good ham.

It's pretty much a fictionalized version of England. It's reminiscent of Lord of the Rings in that Tolkien intended for certain regions to be like countries in Europe/Asia ala The Shire=England, Gondor=Italy, Mordor=Turkey.

I live in Nashville and I hate country music. I don't even call that "country" because it's more like frat boy rock that is so painfully generic. It's far closer to Nickelback than Hank Williams.

I also saw The Beguiled this weekend with my dad and as he was telling me, it was not uncommon for a plantation in Virginia that deep in the war to not have slaves. Virginia was the state that had the most battles during the War so it would make sense they wouldn't be at an isolated school in the wilderness. Of

You said "you" meaning "me". That is incorrect.

There's not? *disappears Back to the Future style*

I'll defend the first two Hobbit movies but man, that third one was the strangest and most WTF? viewing experience ever.

Yeah but unlike other prequel trilogies, The Hobbit ones actually had good performances.

A local theater near me was doing a screening of Night of the Hunter in honor of Robert Mitchum's 100th birthday so I decided to go. I knew about the film and understood that it was an influential thriller so I went in with the idea of seeing an Alfred Hitchcock-type movie. What I didn't expect was how different the

We saw what happened to Scalia so I sure hope that him and Ruth Bader Ginsburg can stay alive long enough until 2020.

This comment, for some reason, reminded me of a statement made by a principal in a rural school in Tennessee as the school he was in charge of was closing and he blamed Barack Obama and the ACA. It was quite stupid.

To pile on to the bad news on health care, rumors are swirling around that Anthony Kennedy will retire from the Supreme Court thus, another judge that Trump gets to pick and a key swing vote in the court is gone.

The Rocko movie will just be an hour and a half of mayo.

It is interesting that you say that because (Spoilers for Wonder Woman) David Thewlis plays Ares who manipulates humanity into doing evil things like Varga.

I thought that one of the final scenes of the episode was Ray Wise coming back and confronting Varga which would lead to Varga's demise. I figured Noah Hawley was going for some God vs the Devil story that sees the Devil finally defeated.
