Not enough people know this. It’s very good for it’s intended audience. It’s just too bad the studio threw tentpole money at it and that’s why it’s scoring negative.

I guess they didn’t live happily ever after at the end of Crystal Skull lmao
How many films do we really have where a plucky new hero didn’t work and in the next installment they’re straight up deceased. Like.... doesn’t Crystal Skull end with Shia picking up Indy’s hat?!?!?! bahahahahaha and then the next time the character is referred to he died young. That’s grisly.
I’m tickled pink by “Shia LaBeouf as new Indiana Jones didn’t happen after we tried to make it happen” resulting in a character’s child dying before them offscreen in the follow-up LOOOOOL they straight up ended that characters life. Is it even possible to watch Crystal Skull now knowing that Mutt dies tragically…
if no one watches the video it doesn’t get joke credit
basically hahahaha
lol I made this comment seconds ago without reading yours.
When I first start visiting the website in the early 2000s (college years) I lived in a shoebox type apartment where I was often to lazy to throw on my headphones yet didn’t wanna make noise from my computer. Call me a creature of habit but I’ve never watched a videoclip on the AV club for well over a decade. I…
They turned that into such a workable emotional moment for the new film LOL I swear ever since the moment I realized that Shia LaBeouf was the son who died offscreen that he’s referring to I’ve been laughing my ass off. This is friggin hilarious. And it WORKED in the film ahhahahahahahahahahahaha
You guys are gonna get her fired.
To see a sold out crowd of people with white hair on a Saturday night as oppose to a Sunday matinee to see their hero of yesteryear was cute as fuck. I hope some of them were drinking.
Thing is I think Indiana Jones did exactly what it was trying to do beautifully and I wouldn’t correlate these numbers with the quality of the film if you’re the right audience for it.
Why is this so surprising? At my screening of Indiana Jones on Saturday (night) of the long weekend my Dad pointed out that it was almost a sold out crowd purely of seniors.
I don’t think Phoebe Waller Bridge counts so I’d say there was zero youthful eye candy at all. I’ll say it again the entire film is all haymakers…
The opening credits of the Norton-Hulk (aside from the SHIELD easter eggs) basically bridges the cliffhanger from the Bana-Hulk film.
What makes Norton over Bana MCU really boils down to the RDJ cameo because yeah its a soft-sequel. His origin only happens in the Bana film.
It’s weird isn’t it? The MCU’s Hulk entry soft-picks up where Ang Lee’s Hulk left off. The last time we saw Eric Bana he went to live in south america etc.
That’s always been something I’ve avoided thinking hard about. The baton pass from Norton to Ruffalo is enough to keep tabs on.
I keep prophecizing that the apocalypse is when Disney crosses the MCU over with Star Wars. IT’S COMING DON’T KID YOURSELVES. Look at how quickly they started mashes old filmes into new films once the multiverse came into play.
Marvel releases Star Wars and Avengers comic books. I’m convinced this is just a long game…
Evan Peter’s Quicksilver was from before Disney owned Fox
I didn’t grow up with Harrison Ford but what I’ve seen of him in older films they did seem to nail his energy for young Indy. It was cool to get a taste of that.
I took my Dad to see Indy last night amongst a crowd of mostly seniors. It was a hoot! Every punch thrown was a haymaker! They really nailed the old school adventure choreo. The cold open with young Indy was kind of badass.
