Florida’s covid death and hospitalization rates are average. Where is this anger coming from?

By “national stage” do you mean your TV screen? It’s the media who decides if a governor giving a speech in his own state is “national.” That everything De Santis does gets coverage isn’t De Santis’s decision.

It just seems obvious this vitriol is media driven. There’s really nothing special about Florida’s covid situation. The things people are saying about De Santis in this thread are just baffling to me. It really sounds like a “here’s who we hate now” situation rather than anything driven by facts. 

So they are ranked 8th in per-capita case rates. Why aren’t people this angry at the governor of the 7th ranked state? 

This is unhinged. Why the focus on Florida? New Jersey has the highest per-capita Covid death rate. 

Why is this governor your focus? There are worse states no matter how you evaluate them.

Can you see why the media being comfortable claiming that someone must be guilty of a crime because he has bad politics might be bad?

I do not follow wrestling. Can you tell me why there’s zero doubt he’s guilty, despite a unanimous acquittal? Why do you think the jury got it wrong?

I knew zero about this incident and I think I know even less having read this article. The author is absolutely certain McMahon is guilty, despite a unanimous acquittal, based on nothing but his politics and personality.

Political satire with a political point of view would be like the Colbert Report, which focused on specific criticisms of one political movement and the rhetorical style of its leaders. Ianucci’s political satires are completely divorced from actual politics.…

Calling someone racist or homophobic is really not different from calling for a boycott of them.

I didn’t see anything that said it had “KKK roots.”

The guy speaks Mandarin and is on a business junket in China, he probably knows as much about China as you do. He slipped up and told the truth; it could happen to anyone.
