For me the Poison Ivy fight from Arkham Asylum always sticks out in my head, was just a fun fight, wasn’t overly difficult, and made excellent use of your gadgets. Plus c’mon, gotta admit Ivy is HOTT ;-)

Killer Croc in Asylum provided so much tension. I’ll give my nod to that one.

PC performance in Arkham Knight.

Oh I knew the third story will be downloadable but not the opposite one. Man I'm totally not a fan of dlc but Nintendo of all sorts is the only one that made me buy them.

You only have to buy one cartridge, the remaining campaigns can be bought digitally at a reduced price. You’d still run into the situation of realizing you made the wrong choice and having to start all over again though.

So in a worst case you pick one game and go nooooo I want to stick with the other side and then realize you bought the wrong version. I like the idea of the split plot but not split cartridges. It's not like Pokemon where you get the same story expect some exclusive units.

Enjoyed the write-up. Very enticed to grab a copy. But, did you enjoy it? What type of reader would you recommend it to?

Right here. Did that game 100% through at the age of 5 or 6 many many times without the comprehension of even what Nintendo Power or a strategy guide was. I’m far from alone. You see, when you’re a child(at least of that previous generation), you would bomb every wall and burn every bush without even being prompted

I just finished reading the graphic novel. Here’s the ironic part; while he says that Skyward Sword is the worse one, most of the story’s backdrop in terms of setup and location is based on Skyward Sword. It doesn’t look like he hates SS as much as he claims.

YES! Thank you! Sums me up perfectly!

I do have to say that the vast difference between the old school Zeldas and the new ones is pretty jarring. It wasn’t necessarily like “Ghosts n Goblins” or “Castlevania” in terms of ridiculous levels of difficulty, but the newer games have completely gotten rid of any type of difficulty so they are mostly handholding

Gotta admit, it’s the first time I catch wind of this graphic novel. It looks unbelivablely cool and right up my alley s a huge Zelda fan. However, I really dislike the kind of Zelda fan Tevis Thompson is.

I started with third generation video games, and we're in the eight generation now. I've seen a lot of changes, for better or worse. The one thing I'm glad of is that I saw and experienced those earlier games. They helped shape my understanding of the genres, series and concepts of video games, and ultimately a better

Exactly. Skyward Sword is the only Zelda game I couldn't bring myself to complete. The combat was absolute crap. Repeated boss fights and backtracking sucked all the fun out of it and motion controls pissed me off on a regular basis. I played the game for a good 30 hours too (I believe I was almost to the end).

Skyward Sword is by far the worst Zelda game (AND NO THE CD-I ONES DON'T COUNT! Also, admittedly, I haven't played Zelda 2, so maybe that's awful, I wouldn't know). And I say that as a huge fan of the franchise, and someone who did play Skyward Sword to completion.

I agree with everything you just said. Thing is though, I did go back to it like, 6 months later, and gave it a proper try.. and it is a good game...in short bursts. Those controls do get far too frustrating far too quickly.

My issue was the motion controls. I hate them. I love Zelda, always have. The first game I ever owned was a Link to the Past, and it remains my favorite. I have played and beaten EVERY Zelda game except Skyward Sword now. Because... just... really. I fucking hate motion controls. So much. I can't stand them. I got

Hmmm, it's more than that. In comparison to older games in the series, Skyward Sword was overtly linear with few real hidden items. First, understand that older games in the series had two modes: Overworld and dungeon. Skyward Sword, on the other hand, has (mostly empty) overworld, "zone" map, and dungeon. In

Skyward Sword was great... it have some of the issues mentioned here easily addressed though simply by eliminating a lot of the hand holding. I can figure out what to do next, I don't need to be told.
