I think it is sad that “free speech” is slowly becoming a synonym for “hate speech” in peoples minds. This can turn into a slippery slope very quickly if we don’t focus on the core of peoples issues over the symptoms (symptoms like yelling racial slurs at people).

The thing is. It isn’t uniquely Japanese, per say.
It’s uniquely UNIQUE. Unique among Japanese and Western development.

If the guy was from America and he developed a similar game here, we wouldn’t call it a Uniquely American game.  It would just be unique.

Some directors simple will not allow such freedom of thinking because they have a clear specific vision of what they want their work to be. Different styles of work, none of them are wrong.

They didn’t focus on this story cause “fuck Russia/ USSR, we are awesome Americans!”. It highlights how this event is a shared failure of humanity. And the people who FIXED it are heroes…

My only complaint about this list is that there aren’t a few more actors on it.

Personally, I hope this is a new story that leaves the Bhaal stuff behind. That stuff was great, don’t get me wrong. But a new set of characters in the same setting would be fun.

I don’t think anybody is actually defending these actions. They’re just describing them and their actions more accurately than simply saying they are racists. Because as the OP points out: many probably aren’t.

They are trolls looking to use triggering and offensive language to get reactions and a rise out of people.…

But think of how much life a pile of shit can sustain! It’s part of the natural balance of life. Manure is a perfect example of the benefits of shit.  Just spread it all over and things will work out.

I wish the hype and marketing machine would put this kind of energy behind someone like Tulsi Gabbard.  We might ACTUALLY have a chance at getting a better president in the short term.
