I can’t tell if it’s that he’s matured and lost the babay fat in his face or if he’s actually had work done. I feel like he looks like a Ryan Reynold’s look-alike more than Ryan Reynolds.

I never really found him attractive until this picture. I’m digging the salt and pepper look.
I really, truly hope that the tone isn’t, “let’s make fun of Ryan Reynolds for severing a friendship with someone who betrayed him.” Umm, how dare he?
I know. I have no feelings good or bad toward RR, but I’d feel pretty grossed out and betrayed if put into his same situation. It’s not even the photos themselves as much as a friend of 25 years looking at me and my newborn baby like a paycheck. Celebs get so little privacy as it is...
That’s definitely how I read the tone here.
Ah. Thanks.
As a smug non-religious person, I do get to judge you. Maybe not for your beliefs alone, but certainly for continued support of an organization which has spent nearly two millennia actively making the world worse. I do claim that I am “oh so moral”, but I don’t think I’ve ever made the claim that I’m not judgmental…
I left the Church as soon as I could.
My husband and I had a serious argument this week about Cool Pope. I said that I prefer mean popes, like Ratzinger, because people like Cool Pope have the same message but are able to jazz it up so dumb people think that hate is acceptable. He thinks that Cool Pope is great because it will teach some hatemongers to be…
You FUCKING rule.
My entire family has left the Church over the years for these reasons and others. Even my parents. It was just way too much cherry-picking for us, especially after the child abuse.
As a former Catholic turned agnostic there are a few things that I find common among truly progressive Catholics (i.e. pro-choice, female priest, LGBT rights wanting). Rare as they are, I’ve known a few.
Inertia
Wait, the doctors already had been absolved? I thought that was new too.
Compassionate Catholics cherry-pick their religion like crazy. All good people who are believers do this. A massive game of ‘pretend it’s not in the Book.’
The world’s religions have thousands of years of experience in convincing people to join them. Even kind, compassionate people can be duped when there’s so much support behind the dupers.
Can someone help me understand how kind, compassionate people are still Catholic? And this man? He’s more dangerous than any predecessor. So humble and friendly and STILL would prefer that women die rather than get an abortion. STILL considers women unequal and undeserving of the priesthood, because why again? Why?…
Last time I attended a Mass that wasn’t a wedding or a funeral was in suburban Philadelphia while a priest was on trial for child molestation, and the pastor used his sermon to explain how the affordable care act was the same thing as rape. About 15-20 people, all around my age, left in the middle of the homily…
Hang on if gay people are godparents obviously they’ll emesh the poor kid in their cunning conversion schemes but are trans people doing it as well now? You guys had a policy meeting and invited the Pope? Rookie mistake.
I thought a godparent’s responsibility was making sure the child had a religious education. A trans man or woman can do that. Excluding people from a certain religion just assures that even more people will reject that faith.
