I feel you. I’m always skeptical of people who are afraid of differing points of view. It’s dangerous to be too confident that you are right all the time. You don’t have real progress without open discussion on all sides.

I’m in the same place as you, and sometimes I feel like I’m seeing elements of The Red Scare resurface. It gets exhausting being in the middle, and fearing the extremes in both directions.

I’ve seen people say it’s irresponsible for a TV network to air a show featuring Trump supporters. That suggests nearly half the country (at least going by 2016 voters) should be shunned and buried out of view. I’m far from being a Trump supporter, and I don’t think that’s a viable notion.
