DBZ abridged is far better than regular DBZ

Do you think it’s a white sensibility to dislike the harem trope? Because there are both plenty of people who hate it in Japan and like it in the West. I mean, it’s blatant wish fulfillment.

SAO: Abridged does this in spades. It’s one of the few times where I’ve watched a parody and it was legitimately a far better show than the original, and not just from a comedic standpoint. Kirito actually had character development!

Except in the first episode Kayaba changed all the avatars to look like the players’ real faces.Everyone’s hair matches how they look irl. 

If there’s one anime that could actually benefit from another pass and a few changes to improve it, this would be it. Tone down the harem stuff, give the actual SAO part of the story room to breathe, and you’ve got a stew going.

The only thing remaining here is making sure characters’ hair colors are accurate. With SAO there’s a unique opportunity for the characters’ IRL hair to be black (as it so often is in Japan), but for their digital avatars to have all kinds of fancy shmancy hair colors.

The big power hits in World isn’t the graphics, it’s the seamless world simulation. The entire map has to be loaded into memory and and all monsters are constantly being tracked through the level.
